Okay I just ran the 10 minute free-run at what I consider I pretty good lick, covering 3770m, but I still only got 3*. How far do you have to run to get the elusive 4th star?

Before anybody suggests it, no I don't want to cheat by taking the Wii remote out of my pocket and shaking it.

You have to run 4000 m to get 4 stars.

Oh, and it would be better to hold the Wiimote while you run as it more accurately measures your pace. At least, that is what I have found. When I kept the Wiimote in my pocket, the game was always yelling at me for letting it fall around too much and this did affect how it counted my distance.

Tenshirock is the name of a character in the short motion French TV series, Noob. 'Short motion' means each episode is less than 15 minutes, typically around 7 to 12 minutes each.

The series is a comedy about players in MMORPG game (like World of Warcraft). Tenshirock, my favourite character, is a hacker. To summon him, another character has to say his name three times. He's a crazy character who has the self-appointed task of liberating the players from their nolife existence. The joke is that the series appears on the channel 'NoLife'. That is indeed the name of the channel.

The channel is dedicated to geeks and otakus (Japanese for geek). It features programmes about video games, new and old, critiques of video game music, manga, anime, and cosplay. It also does things on Japanese culture, such as how to eat sushi properly. I started watching it to improve my French, but I enjoy it in its own right now.

They do have the episodes in English, but I refuse to watch them because it would disrupt my learning of French, so I don't know whether they use voice overs or subtitles. Here's the site if you or anyone else is interested:

Does anyone know when the best results are gained for holding or placing the remote? If I hold it I find it seems to miss a lot of steps and gets poor scores. Same in back pocket. On my shoulder under shirt doesn't seem to work well either My waistband seems best but I wondet if taping it to my arm to feel arm movements would be better but holding it there with my ohter hand seems to totally mix it up. Any suggestions. Though I am running hard and sweating I am no where near the scores on the stats page. In fact so far behind it is embarrassing.
I decided to run for awhile because there is too much dust on the cycling trails from phunguy123 and my Mii is all bruised up from making bad cliff jumps. He doesn't find it all that funny though :D

I hold the Wiimote while I run. To be specific, I hold it vertically. I have found that this means it captures my pace accurately without jigging around. When I used to hold it horizontally, sometimes it would move a bit and I would find my Mii speeding up or slowing down unexpectedly. I tried putting it my pocket, but it would just flop around there and the Wii would yell at me for letting it fall.

I tried using an armband, but I found it was uncomfortable, had the problems of holding the Wiimote horizontally, and was difficult to use to navigate the menus at the beginning of the run.

The way I get such good stats is that I run at a consistent pace. That is what the game is looking for. Whatever your pace is, stick with it. Count as you run. Concentrate keeping your pace as steady as possible. You might wish to take it slowly and build up to it. My stats, as you can see from the stats page, are best for the longer runs and from this I surmise that the game must be working on the average pace. I say this, because it always takes me a minute or so to reach and then maintain my pace, and, obviously, on the shorter runs, this takes up a bigger proportion of the time.

One way you can tell whether you are achieving something of a steady pace is how long the runs take. You should take, plus or minus one minute, the same amount time to do the run every time. For example, if, at at pace comfortable to you, it takes you 10 minutes to do one of the around the island runs, then you should strive to achieve that time every time you do it. The more the run feels the same every time you do it, the better your scores will be.

Make certain you aren't too tired when you do a run, by the way. Today I am very tired and I could only achieve no more than 195% on the round the island run. I was just too tired to concentrate properly on keeping a steady pace. I could run, but I couldn't do it efficiently.

Thanks for the info, I will hold vertically next and try keeping just a steady pace to see what happens.

I found the same problem when I held them or put it in my pocket. It didn't register the movement properly, and my mii kept slowing down or stopping. What I've found that works, since I'm wearing yoga pants, is to tuck the remote securely in my waistband. It looks a little silly, but it really, really works! My stat more than doubled the first time I did it that way, which made me feel pretty darn good, I must say. Give it a shot!

Another thing that really upped my stats, oddly enough, was to run holding 2 pound weights. I don't know why it made a difference, but it really did. Of course, I about died the first time, but now I don't even notice, but my arms do! I'm determined to get rid of those flabby upper arm dealies.

4000 metres in 10 minutes is the equivalent of a 4 minute mile - is that possible?

I did 2065 metres today (day 10 of my Wii) and I was delighted with it :-)

I am so hooked on Wiifit
