I have had my Wii for about 7? days now and last week I logged 40 hours on my Wii Fit. In that time I have gone from 186 to 176 pounds and a waist measurement of 45" to 42". My weight dropped quickly to begin but now has slowed. I watch my diet and also try to walk 10k steps per day but usually walk between 5000 and 8000 steps on top of the Wii exercises.

I know there are some seniors here and I wonder what their ages are. I am 67 years young.

My motto: Keep moving, it makes it harder for the undertaker to catch you.

Welcome to the forum.

I'm glad that WiiFit's helping you so much. Have a look at the Hints and Tips section if you like the cycling game, by the way.

I like your sig, very appropriate. :D

Again, welcome to the forum.

Thats excellent results. Congratulations I logged 40hrs last night and my piggy turned gold too but I've been at it for 69 days  Could you advise me how long you are on the wii for each day? I'm doing about 50 minutes every evening. For the first time yesterday I wore a pedominitor and only clocked up about 4450 steps    Trouble is my job involves sitting in front of the computer all day

If you are trying to lose weight, then it might be not just the amount of exercise you do, but when you eat that determines how much weight comes off. That's what happens in my case, anyway.

For example, a few weeks back I went to the Japan Expo in Paris and logged up over 40,000 steps on my pedometer just walking around looking at the stands and buying DVDs and such like all day. I only ate a quick sandwich because there was so much to do. So I thought, great, I'll lose some weight, but no, I gained it. :( Why? Because I ate a late meal after the expo. If I eat much past six in the evening, no matter how much exercise I have done before - and after - the weight either won't come off or I gain it.

I have no idea why my metabolism works this way, but it does. :? So maybe that's something for you to consider.

Congratulations on hitting 40 hours! I do at least 30 minutes but try to do 1 hour plus on my Wii. I get up early and walk my dog about a mile to start and by noon I usually have 5000 steps logged. I also do separate yoga routines and watch my diet. I strive to eat healthy and almost never eat processed foods but I do allow my self rewards now and then. Being forced to sit in front of a computer can be a real problem. Before I retired I was tied to a desk but I always walked before work, walked at lunch, and used the steps whenever possible. I also worked on my sitting posture and did isometrics at my desk. I also worked with one person who sat on a large exercise ball instead of a chair.
She claimed it was as good as working out.
