Run with your Wii Remote in one hand, and a spare remote or small weight (a bottle perhaps) in your other hand. This will give your arms a little workout while you are running and burn a little more weight.

It's also less annoying than a Wii Remote bouncing around in your pocket.

Paul, will this help with my problem? When I do the long run I can keep a good steady pace if I try hard, and it's getting easier. But on the island lap, it doesn't seem to respond to my pace. It says I am unsteady or too fast, etc.

Hiya,

If you've been running with the remote in your pocket then yes, running with it in your hand may help.

Agreed.

The pace that your Mii carries on screen is based on the speed that the Wii-mote is moving up and down, and when it is in your pocket, it may be moving up and down too fast, causing an unsteady pace. If you keep it in your hand and swing your arms normally as you run, it will keep a good steady pace.

I've had my Wii Fit for just over 2 weeks and been using it every day. I changed from having the remote in my pocket to holding in my hand today and suddenly had a burn rate of 123% and nice comments about my steady pace whereas before I could only manage about 75% burn rate.

I use Wii active's thigh strap for the wii fit run and it works great, takes your mind out of the remote holding and balance.
My question to you guys, I run 20 min for a bit over 4 miles in free run and gets 3 stars. What speed can I get four?

Hi All,
I kept getting the make sure your wii remote is secure message while the remote was in my pocket or in my hand.
One tip that has worked well for me is to put the remote in my sock while i run. It helpsme alot... i get lots of your keeping a steady pace, and also allows me to concentrate on my arm movements.

I'm not certain where the tip over point is, but I have got 4 stars for 8561m (5.32 miles). :D It's been some time, though, since I have done the 20 minute free run as I have been following pets around on the other runs. :D
