The great thing about the Wii and the Wii Fit, is that is can make activities that should be chores enjoyable. I imagine that a lot of physiotherapy exercises are pretty boring and feel like drudge work. Being able to throw something a little more enjoyable into the mix must be a great help, especially for young people and kids.
A physiotherapy friend of mine reports that an increasing number of hospitals are buying Wiis to complement their other equipment. Compared to standard medical equipment, a Wii and Wii Fit kit costs very little, and has a disproportionally large benefit for its price tag.
