Hi folks,
I this is my first post and I apologise for asking for a favour straight away.
As part of my 4th year studying Games Software Development, my dissertation is looking into the physical health benefits of the Wii Fit compared to traditional exercise.
If I could ask you to have a look and complete a simple 5 minute questionnaire it would greatly help my report.

For the question "4. Has using the Wii Fit replaced any physical activity you used to do?", I'd like to put that No, it hasn't replaced any physical activity I used to do (which was essentially just incidental exercise), but it has inspired me to do more exercise (I'm listening to my friend the gym bunny and going to a couple of classes.) I put the second option instead.

I filled out the questionaire as well, and had the same issues. I was doing NO exercise before starting with the Wii Fit. Now I'm doing the Wii Fit and I've started adding additional exercise as I gain strength and fitness. Wasn't sure how to answer some of those questions in that light.

I filled in the questionnaire as well.
You might wish to consider, in future questionnaires of this type, putting in a section about non-exercise/sports activities that require some or quite a bit of physical activity. I'm talking about things that people may do in their everyday life that they don't really think about as providing them with physical activity, but that do. Some of this will be linked to people's jobs or hobbies.
For instance, at the moment, I am doing quite a bit of drawing. I find it easier to stand, not sit at the drawing board, and I do so for sometimes six hours at a time. I have started keeping track of the time in my WiiFit Journal and the amount of calories it burns is tremendous and yet, all I am doing is standing and drawing. It's not exercise, not in the way I think about it, but compared to sitting, however, it's an improvement.
Perhaps you could ask people how much time they stand, walk, lift things, etc, in the course of their everyday life and then, also, ask them what type of job and hobbies they do. This could help you to further gage the level of people's physical activity and their 'background' fitness.

Interesting survey. It made me think about what I've been doing.
For some activities, and some ways of playing others, I don't think the intensity scale (1=nothing to 5=moderate) goes high enough. Something which allows "Insanely psycho killer furiously pedalling" might be useful for the participants in the challenge to find all the balloons in the Free Ride cycling in under I think it's 16 minutes now.

I just completed it too. Another suggestion is that SOMETIMES I think I deserve a snack after WiiFit, but I put no as most of the time I resist that temptation. Good luck with your dissertation. How are you going to validate the randomness of your survey? I was wondering because it certainly seems as if everyone on this forum is really positive about WiiFit.
