Drinking water before a meal leads to people consuming less calories during that meal, probably because the water fills up the stomach. Over a course of 12 weeks, dieters who drank water before each meal lost 5 more pounds than those who did not.
Of course, one will still have to watch the calories, but this might make it a bit easier. It's cheap, easy and worth giving a try.

This almost seems like common sense. I would think anything you put in your stomach would fill it and curb your appetite. You could drink water or eat lots of lettuce or greens or consume or drink anything else that doesn't contain much calories, carbs and sugars.

BBC seems to contradict that statement. Their rasionale is that the water + solid food will move the food quickly through the stomach and this will make us feel hungry faster. The solution? Soup... as it stays longer in the stomach and make us less likely to be hungry earlier..
Another fast tip, increase your carbo meal with 10% more protein, and you will stay fuller longer.
All scientifically backed and sanction by BBC, and broadcasted here in the UK to the general public. Soup, the ultimate diet food.

Hi Everyone,
New here and writing my first post. I can remember that when I was in my childhood, my mom used to told me not to drink water before taking food. Now I understand why she used to told me that. Its obvious that when you consume water before taking food, definitely you'll not be able to eat properly and will not get proper nutrients.

Yes, It does in many way. Drinking water helps in reducing weight. When we work out a lot with protein supplement , then water plays major role in burning the extra fat of the body. Apart from weight loss, water helps the body in other way also. It keeps the skin glowing, reduces the chance of occurring pimples and acne. ---------- Senior Alert

we are appretiate the benefits of water... just try to avoid it immediately (1/2 hr) after a meal, as it will push the food out of the stomach faster and into the intestines and make us hungrier sooner.

Yes I also agree with this argument that drinking water in excess quantity on daily basis keep's you healthy and fit... Also help's in your cardiovascular smooth flow. As our body is composed of 70% of water so when we go for work out on daily basis the water is consumed in the form of sweat which is refilled by drinking excess on daily basis....
