At the recent E3 conference, EA showed of more of what we can expect with EA Sports Active 2.0 in the autumn.
The presentation is now up at EA's website (follow the link and select the third item from the video player). It's complete with demos on the Wii, PS3, and most interestingly XBox 360 with the Kinect system.
The Wii And PS3 versions both come with wireless controllers that strap to the wrists and one leg to detect movement and record your pulse. The XBox 360 version will use Microsoft's new Kinect motion tracking system (formally known as Project Natal), which means it can detect your movement much more actively than the other two, and only requires on wrist controller. The demo shows the player's in-game character matching their movements perfectly. I've been quite sceptical about Kinect up till now, but this looks like a really good example of what it can do. I might just have to start saving up for an XBox
