I'm happy to find that as I continue to work out, the exercises that I found most difficult are getting easier. The first time I did the single arm stand, I thought I was going to have a stroke! I avoided doing it for a couple of months because I disliked it so much, but I kept working out with other exercises. Then recently I started letting the fit put together a routine for me, instead of making my own routine, and it keeps putting the single arm stand in the routine. I was thrilled to discover that I actually can do this exercise now! Plank is getting easier, too. Well, 'easy' is not the right word -- but it is do-able now.

Also I'm happy to find that the backaches I was getting for the first several weeks have gotten much better. I had a lot of low back pain at first, I think because many of the balance games require leaning. It was fairly severe for awhile, but I haven't noticed it much at all lately.

The one exercise that I still avoid is the push-up side plank. I've done it exactly once. I've never been able to do push-ups. I guess I should work on it more. I'll try it soon, maybe I'll be happily surprised that it too has gotten easier.

Are there any exercises that you always avoid? Have you ever tried returning to them after a long time away?

I've found the same, as the muscles you use start to develop things get much more comfortable.

I think it's especially true with the back. Obviously you should be careful when exercising you back (and see the doctor if you have concerns), but I think a lot of people make the mistake of thinking that they should do no exercises if they have an achy back, when in reality doing a little exercises can help strengthen it and help mild back pain.

That's really great!
It's normal that at first when you try something unfamiliar it will be difficult but on the process it will be easier to manipulate. It's just the familiarity. ;)

When I started working out, one thing that I don't want to do was push-ups. I had weak arms and can only make 1-2 of them, so I decided that they are not for me. Then, I started to exercise 4-5 times a week and started doing weights. Eventually, my arms have gotten stronger. Now I can do 20-25 push-ups per time. That's just great!
