I have been trying to figure out how to get on the boat... I can during one of the runs (can't remember which one) but is there another way during cycling? Cycling seems to be the only way you can really get around to (except when those barriers are really tight up against an opening) explore. I thought someone once mentioned they got on board, but I can't find the post. I've been down there during every cycle possible but its always out to sea! Help - I'm also stuck on the balloon run, can't get under 24 minutes.
On the short distance jogging plus level - if you speed up and follow the new cat which appears shortly after the start, he'll take you over the rooftops and on to the boat. It's a very short run though.

I spent extensive time trying to get on the boat, I tried all hours of the day all, days of the week, I even constructed a virtual surveying system so I could measure the location of the boat.
All I can tell you for certain is that boat hasn't changed position one smidge since last October. It is always in exactly the same position regardless of what level you're playing or when you're playing. If it can move there would have to be some sort of unlocking method and I haven't figured what that might even be.

Wow! You've really looked at the matter! The only way I've found to get on the boat is to jog. I remember that someone said he got on the boat on his bike, but I have never, ever figured out how he did it. I was hoping that more features would unlock when I had done six months without missing a day, but no, nothing.
Out of curiosity, how did you construct a virtual surveying system?

It's not really that hard, surveying is just taking measurements between fixed points. Basically I selected a tree on the hill near the bungalows as my anchor point and I would position my bike there carefully sighting so that the far point at the beach was in the exact same position on the screen, then it's a simple matter of measuring the distance of the boat across the screen. Which was fairly easy since it never moved.
I remember the same post and I latched onto the idea of getting on the boat on my bike and going out to Golf Island. I really want a new area to explore. So far no luck.

Actually, the boat is in different places in the different cycling levels. On the second level ("Advanced" or "Grand Tour" in French), the boat is close (but not close enough, I think - I haven't tried yet) to the pier, while on some of the others it is further out, in a similar position to its location on the free flight mode of Wii Sports Resort. I haven't done a detailed survey of locations, but the locations, while fixed in each level, are not the same from level to level.
After reading the posts I kind of had a thought about getting on the boat. I know when cycling I sometimes hear the boats horn. Maybe if when you do the free cycle if you start at the boat or get down there first thing, the boat will still be at the dock. I will try this weekend. Most times when I hear the boats horns I'm close but when I get there, it's already away from the dock. I need a boat ride........
I have been on boat - I was lost and ended up going across some roof tops and down a ramp then onto boat, I don't know if this will help I think I was following a dog at the time.

Hello Peanuts! Most of us running on the boat, but very very few ride it with the bicycle.

I came sooooooo close today - I was doing the Advanced Cycle, and as I was picking up my last 2 flags in town, I noticed that the boat was at the dock. Instead of going to the finish line, I raced down the ramp to see if I could get on, but by the time I got there it was on it's way.
I am kicking myself now - I should have forgotten about the last 2 flags and headed to the dock right away - maybe the boat would have still been there.
Here is something interesting that happened though... When I got down to the dock and the boat was adrift, I decided to ride off the dock at the very end, just to see what would happen. I was resurrected facing the finish line, just several pedals away.... nowhere near the dock! It wasn't even near the last flag I had attained - I was positioned to pedal maybe 6 times and cross the finish line.
