Oh sorry, that added 5 m to my distance. I am still figuring out how to beat my record of around 930 m. My halfway best is 497. Cynique, I think a youtube of you doing beginner would help me get under 900 meters. I use all the possible shortcuts except for inbetween 10 and 11. And how are you getting 849 when you are taking only 1 more shortcut than me?
"Oh sorry" sarcasm like that will only win you enemies. It's quite clear that you don't use all possible shortcuts. I get 853 because I have refined my technique to the point where I can. You have the route, and I have posted descriptions of the technique required. Read up and then practice. Practice turning in a sub-bikelength radius (hint: stop the bike, then without pedalling tilt the Wiimote as if you want to make a normal sharp turn), riding long distances in a straight line, using the pet to get flags, re-belling the pet to get further-away flags, etc. All these techniques are documented somewhere on these forums, or on the wiki.
And practice. I spent many hours (not all at one session, mind you) working all this out and developing my technique.
