Hello, what a great forum!
I am obese (there, I've said it) and I've recently treated myself to a Wii balance board and Wii Fit Plus. So far I've been working up from 20 mins activity a day to over 30 - 45 mins (I am seriously obese so this is a big deal for me) .

I am quite enjoying myself so far, my main problem will be boredom though but there seems to be so many activitie I haven't even looked at yet so hopefully I will be kept amused for some time ;) .

I just love the rythmn boxing, steps and a few of the odd games like snowball fight and ski jump. So I am mainly rtying to concentrate on the aerobic stuff.

So, here goes, I'll check in regularly to bore you all with my witterings!

Thanks so much for this forum, it will be great to keep up with the latest Wii Fit news :D
All the best, obese moog

Hello :D I too am loving this wiifit thingy and this forum is really helping to keep my interest in it going. Keep trying out different activities and challenging yourself, getting up the levels is great motivation and changes the focus to keep you from getting bored. I'm addicted to the cycling on wiifit plus and there are loads of threads in the cheats/spoiler section to keep it fun. Just don't look there if you don't want some secret information ;)

Anyway, welcome 'aboard' and keep up the wiiing.

Yes, welcome! I'm sure you will enjoy Wii Fit Plus for a long time. If you start on Island Cycling, it is fun from the start, but as you get to know the island and you climb up into higher levels, you will be captivated. :D We have friendly competitions going on, and a lot of spunky chat about it. It is fun. We've become friends. Try each level out and see what you can do, and eventually you will start to have questions and want some of the Cheaters information. We'll see you over there in the Cheat threads. :o

Thanks for the lovely welcome, I am really loving this forum, it's great . I've had a good look about and seen lots of helpful hints here and there, thank you!! :D

I am just loving my Wii Fit Plus, I am so glad I bought it. I very rarely spend any money on myself and it took me a while to take the plunge but I am just so glad I did.

I see lots of cycling fans here...I really will have to go back and play it again. At the moment I am a bit obsessed with the Step ones and the Boxing. I quite like the segway and the marching parade majorette thingy caught my eye today so I can see myself getting more into that too.

Just loving it all!

That's the key! Do what you enjoy. The more exercise you get, the more you will want. It's probably not best to start too strenuously anyway.

Yeh, I love the Segway too. It took me ages to figure it out but I'm getting the hang of it now so I've got a sense of achievement from it. I love the idea of being on the beach in sunny weather - I actually end up feeling like I'm really there. That little ole island is stating to feel like home!

Keep telling us what you're up to and how you're doing, you'oll only get a friendly response.

Hi again :D
I am still happily doing my Wii Fit every day and manage an hour most times now. I like to focus on the aerobic stuff as I really need to lose weight.

However, I don't seem to be losing any weight at all so far...in fact the Wii is saying my BMI has gone up  . I am watching what I eat and was following a healthy eating plan before I got the Wii and was steadily losing weight but now it's not happening any more :( .

Has anyone else found their BMI going up despite hard work and sensible eating? I feel a bit disheartened but I will carry on regrdless. Just wanna see results *throws a tantrum and stamps feet* ! Oh I've been at it for two weeks now ;) .

Hi Moog. From my experience this is quite a common problem, it certainly has been for me over the last few years of trying to slim down sensibly. I think you'll find that for a while you lose a bit then you plateau (or even go up a bit) for a little while then lose a little bit again etc. Its really important not to give up during these times. Others may have a more accurate explanation for this, but it may be something to do with you gaining some muscle mass from all that hard work you're doing. Muscle weighs more (I believe) than fat, so as you're burning fat you will hopefully be increasing muscle. The good news is that having more muscle should help you burn more calories. So stick with it, keep a healthily critical eye on what you're eating but don't under eat too dramatically - if you're not eating enough your metabolism will slow down and you won't burn as many calories. Boy, its tricky stuff trying to fulfill all the factors, just keep up the good work and, more than anything, keep enjoying it. Its always sunny on Wii Island so always a good reason to go there 8-)

Another thing I'm wondering about... do you measure yourself at the same time every day? If one day you get a reduced BMI in the morning, chances are it will go up by the afternoon, you can gain and lose something like 4 pounds in a day.
