I've read a lot of the postings but still can't seem to work out some of the stuff (am a relative newbie)
I am assuming if you get all 20 balls in free cycle something will happen. I lose count of my total but seem to think i'm up to 19 and just can't find the last one. I know someone has posted the localities but again some I'm not sure of so if with the map in front of me I say which ones I've got could somebody/anybody maybe fill in the gap. I've looked up and printed off somebody's map but it's not clear to my wonky eyes and couldn't seem to work it out that way. anyhow see if anyone makes sense of this.
this isn't per my route just working it out per the map I've only just found in the packet
1. behind the lighthouse. go left downhill through tunnel 2. on grassy bit to the right as you come out of the tunnel, head towards the ruins 3. on grassy bit parrallel to previous one just before you turn left to go to the ruins 4. one at the back of the ruins, come out turn left through pillar tunnel 5. on beach immediately left of the pillar tunnel before the hotel. back up to road & straight up grass bit 6. on grass which would be to the right of the pillar tunnel 7. in sandy middle bit having gone through a cave tunnel straight up from 6. head down to wooden bridge 8. green area off the wooden bridge near the tunnel with grey ramp 9. down grey ramp out and to the right on grass bit near top of tunnel 10. grass bit before duckling pond 11. behind castle 12. on first grassy bit past castle 13. one in the middle of green on high level of town 14. one southwest bit of town 15. one near boat end of town 16. one past bridge on grass 17. one past camel rock, 18. one on the green on beach using ramp to get up there 19. furthest end of beach continuing on from 17 & 18
So where or where is number 20, please put me out of my misery, its losing its appeal as I'm kinda stuck. thanks in advance
I think you are missing the classic hidden balloon.
It's on what we call the "S-ledge".
The ledge is a narrow grassy plateau that is downhill of and parallel to the passage between the wooden bridges and the dry lake bed ("sandy middle bit")tunnel. If you look at the map in the booklet that comes with Wii Fit, you can easily see it.
Below and parallel to the "S-ledge" is the dirt road that leads from the waterfall towards the hotel and goes uphill to the dry lake bed tunnel.
Hope that helps. Good luck.

Yes, that's the one. You can most easily get it after coming out of the sandy cavern we call the dry lake bed. If you go straight down the road toward town, turn right at the lower end of the fence. Then go straight along the cliff wall till you find the balloon.
Are you running out of time? If you are, you might want to try Didi's route.
Welcome to the forum! Don't get frustrated.

Hooray, now you can join me in the dust behind the leaders. It's fun just to better your own time and improve your turns and shortcuts. I've been at it for over a year and I am still improving.

Welcome Collymags,
Its a slow process for sure. I am fairly new as well - been on the forum for about a month. My best time is about 20 minutes.
One thing that has been helping me is to spend more time on the other levels practicing. I love the Advanced and Island Cycle routes and find that the more I practice there (practicing pet tricks and shortcuts), the better I get with the Free Cycle.

Gagakoh, When you are at the ruins, on the left side there is a ramp going down to a pair of closed doors that you can't open....... as yet..... Have fun.
