I am new to EA Sports Active and am having trouble getting only ONE side of side lunges where you also point down to the floor to register. I have read many posts that say make sure to have the nunchuk and remote pointing the right way. I can do the left lunges just fine but the right ones don't register. I have moved to make sure I am within the sensor bar area; I also changed the batteries in the remote. What happens is it registers the lunge the downard move to the floor but then won't register me moving back to starting position. I tried to restart the exercise but the only way I can go forward with my workout is to cancel the exercise which I don't like doing to my workout. I had one other problem with the forward lunges today too.

Hello mtbone,
I have problems with EA Sorts registering some of my moves as well. One thing I did that helped immensely was to abandon the leg strap and just sew a little pocket onto the front of a pair of workout pants. That took care of most of my problems.
But I still have some problems with move. One of them being the lunges. Sometimes I lunge and it detects that but then does not register that I have returned to center. When EA Sports does not register a move, sometimes I just wiggle the nunchuk or remote and EA Sports seems to "find it again".
I did realize that on some moves, I am just not moving as much as EA Sports wants or expects. I believe for the lunges it expects the nunchuk to go from | to __ and back. When I first started (and even now) I can not do such extreme lunges. Sometimes, if I can figure out what EA Sports is looking for in a movement, I can try and exaggerate my move enough to get through the exercise.
Right now I have a stress fracture in my left foot and it makes it very difficult to do some of the exercises correctly, so I have developed my own "work arounds". This allows me to keep moving and not have to give up some of the exercises completely.

Try adjusting the position of the nunchuck on your leg. When I first started using it I had the strap too high up my leg, and slightly to one side. Try moving it up or down the leg, and make sure that it is properly aligned at the front of your leg.
If it doesn't properly register me coming back up I sometimes find that giving the nunchuck a little wiggle gets its attention
On the whole it is one of the things that has improved in "More Workouts", most of the moves are a bit more forgiving of the orientation of the controllers.
All of the above answers will help. The nunchuk is really fussy in the first game, Personal Trainer, and it wants you to be exactly as it plans. Getting low in lunges is the goal. The pocket instead of the leg strap works really well. It doesn't shift around or come loose then and it's much easier to get the nunchuk in and out.

Hi, I agree with the advice to adjust where the leg strap is. If it is too high and too far round to the side, it causes all sorts of havoc. I find it's better to have the strap nearer the knee and right in the middle. You should get on better like that.
Otherwise a little wiggle of the thigh should get the program to move on if it is stuck...I often have to do that with the alternate knee crunches thingy . Good luck!
