My wife had back surgery March 2008 & is going to an Upper Cervical Specific Chiropractor and she was telling him about doing her body test everyday & it checks her COB… She told him that she can tell when she is out of alignment by doing the COB everyday. He would like to review the data that the Wii fit stores. Does anyone know of a way to be able to remove the data from the Wii and be able to review it on a normal computer? I did the update for the SD card so would that be a way?
TNX, Jim

Hi there Jim,

If the doctor has a Wii then they should be able to load your wife's data from an SD card.

I've been looking around and while there are some technical details out there on how the data is stored, there are no easy to use tools to decrypt and convert the files to a simple format that you can read easily without using another Wii.

If you are technical person then you might find something useful at this article at Stackoverflow.com.

Having said all that, I'm not sure if Wii Fit actually stores your balance data. I suspect it probably just records your Wii Fit Age and weight.

I will do some investigation, as I would like to be able to get the data from my Wii Fit as well.

Hi Jim,
You're right, you can extract the data from Wii Fit and read it on a pc/computer, but its a long and fairly challenging task and when you've extracted the data its in its rawist of forms and means next to nothing!! You can read more about it on the following couple of websites found at http://stackoverflow.com/questions/6162 ... mat/616527 http://gbatemp.net/index.php?showtopic=122568
and
http://wiibrew.org/wiki/FE100
Don't worry if you don't get further than the second paragraph on any of the above pages.....I was lost after the first sentence!!!

Paul is right in saying that if your practitioner has a Nintendo Wii he could read your wifes data from a SD card - but I'm not sure that the program records information about COB!?!? As far as I can remember (without getting the software out) it only records weight/BMI on the charts!?!? The way that I have overcome this problem with my patients (i'm a physio) is to take a digital photo of the COB screen, then store it with the notes. Be careful with using the COB as an indication on progress - I wouldn't consider it to be overly accurate......it largely depends on where your feet are placed on the board, whether the board in on carpet, how the weight is distributed through the board etc etc..... there are better ways to assess how posture and balance are developing/improving.

That said, the WiiFit does offer a great opportunity to work all the muscles required to improve your posture - as you will already know from using it!!! You could also have a look at http://wiibrew.org/wiki/Balance_Board_Tools If you felt brave enough to install the Homebrew challenge this little 'app' is free and offers the opportunity to focus on balance and centre of balance etc etc.

Hi - I used an online tool at http://www.getmyfitdata.com to get my wii fit data into excel. All I had to do was save it to an SD card and upload it - very simple.
