I got EA Sports More Workouts and am well on my way in the 30 day challenge. I must add though, if it were not for my dedication to working out and getting fit, I would have returned it.
The software is flawed in many ways. I have had to find work arounds because the game often does not detect the movement of my remote or nunchuck. Often times, it "forgets" that I am using the Wii Fit board and does not register my moves or, at times, forgets to utilize the board in a workout routing. When I do the step aerobic routines I just hold the nunchuk in my right hand and tuck the remote in my waistband because when I try it the "right" way the game doesn't seem to register my moves.
Also, other than giving you a check mark or trophy for completing things, it keeps no real records of time exercising or calories burned. If you do lose weight, you better remember on your own to go change it in your profile. If you do not, your reported calorie burn will not be at all accurate.
One last thing, I do understand to importance of a well rounded workout, but it would be nice to be able to do some of the activities they offer alone (like in Wii Fit Plus). I would love to do some of the things like water skiing or boxing over and over, just for practice.
Again, I do my workouts each day plus an hour or more of step aerobics, but I would spend even more time there if I could hang out an play.
The huge PLUS that EA Sports has over Wii Fit Plus is that the routines are a lot more intense calorie burners!

Using the board can be an issue with Active, I quit using it because the workout is harder without it and it doesn't always register. If I'm going to spend 30 minutes I want the most bang for my buck. It also only uses the board on some days for some exercises. It isn't something that happens with every workout.
More Workouts keeps charts in your Fitness Profile with your daily time spent, miles run, calories burned, etc. It's not as easy to read as Wii Fit but it is there. Just look in your profile under stats. Mine has asked me a few times if I want to adjust my weight. I can't remember when or where it did that though.
Most often things not registering are because you aren't holding the remote and nunchuk the way it wants. It's really fussy about them being in exact position (it's way of making sure you are doing the exercise correctly) and following the trainer. It will freak if you go faster than the trainer as well. It's good to watch the tutorial that has a real person for an exercise if you are having trouble with it registering.
If you don't hold the controls for step aerobics you won't be getting credit for arm movements. The leg strap needs to be right in the middle of your thigh and it needs to "feel" the jerk of your movement as you bring your leg up. Being really fluid and dainty doesn't work with Active. You'll get credit for more calorie burn if you are doing huge arm movements with it as well. I've developed a whole set of arm movements to go with the routine to get maximum burn.
You can create custom workouts with any exercises that you like. I really enjoy the combo station and squash so I created a little workout for myself that alternates a game of squash then a round of the combo station and repeat. It's a nice little 8 minutes. You can choose any of the exercises and also choose the intensity level for your custom workout.
I started last April with EA Sports Personal Trainer and then got More Workouts when it came out last fall so I think I've worked out most of the kinks now. I do at least one workout with it everyday and have found it the best exercise program I've tried.

Hi, I have only used the original program at the moment and I can relate to what you are saying about it not recognising the movements accutrately. However, I am learning that it is very, very fussy about how you hold the remotes and when they should be pointed up, down parallel etc etc. So I have been concentrating on holding the remotes exactly as the avatar shows and am ngetting much better accuracy now.
I have to go a little slower but once it recognises what I am doing it works fine. Also it tells you to slow down and stand still when you go too fast, so it's worth bearing that in mind too.
It's early days for me, I've heard that the 'More Workouts' is actually a better program than the original one that I am using so stick with it!
Oh and I am sure you can go into custom workouts and pick out the sports you want to practice - you can dfefinitely do it on the original and I expect you can do it on the 'More' version too. For example, I couldn't get the hang of tennis so I picked three or four tennis exercises and made it into a routine and now I can practice it any time - just like Wii Fit Plus .

I just got my EA Sports Active today and I too am frustrated. No matter how tight I tried to put the leg band on it came off at least 3 times. It also didn't register lots of my squats and those are hard for me, I would have liked to get credit. It was however a better workout than WiiFit Plus, I was breathing very hard even though I had stopped to watch the videos for most of the exercises. Well, first days often don't go well, I'll give it another week and see how I feel.
I responded to your other post up farther but I'll add it here too. The legstrap can be a pain because it doesn't stick well to anything but bare skin or over really tight yoga type pants. I solved the problem by sewing a little pocket to the front of my yoga pants to hold the nunchuk. I just used a small piece of stretch fabric I had here but you could use a piece of old t-shirt, etc. I laid it over the nunchuk to get an idea of what I needed for size and then hand sewed it onto my pants. It works great and is so much easier to get the nunchuk in and out of. It also fits my wireless nunchuk that I use for the step aerobics well because it is a bit bigger than the Nintendo one.
The whole program is very touchy about the nunchuk and remote being in exactly the right positions. For squats it wants you to be at least 90 degrees at the knees and the nunchuk needs to be centered on the top of your thigh. You also have to follow the trainer for timing. If you get ahead or behind it freaks out and won't register.
I've tried a lot of the different workout programs and EA makes the best by far. Once you get the remotes and exercises figured out it goes smoothly and there's lots of ways to mix it up by either making custom workouts or choosing from some of the preset workouts.

Hi again, I'm so glad it isn't just me having problems with the leg strap. It just falls off no matter what I do or how I place it - I thought it was just because I have a lot of fat on my thigh and it wobbles it off . It is a pain and makes me annoyed but I really really need to lose weight so I am going to continue no matter what. I will see about customising a pouch for the nunchuck - sounds like a much better idea .

I don't have EA sports but I wonder if you got a strip of that velcro ribbon that adheers to itsef, if you could wrap it around the numchuck on your leg to hold securely, as long as it doesn't cut off the blood supply to your foot.

The strap design is fine really. It stays put as well as anything would that you try to wrap around you leg. I don't want to offend anyone but if you have a lot of extra weigh on your legs it just isn't going to stay put or if you put it tight enough to stay put you are going to rip it. It only makes sense that if you tighten it up and then squat your leg will expand and pull on the strap. I have no problem with it except I don't like the feel of it on my leg and the little pouch is tight for the wireless nunchuk.
They might have been better to make it from some sort of elastic type material that had some give to it instead of using neoprene. I think the strap was designed by someone who was already in good shape and they didn't really give any thought that people might buy the program who needed to lose a substantial amount of weight which is too bad because it is an excellent program, well balanced with strength and cardio training.

Yeah, I find that as soon as I flex my leg muscle, the strap just slithers down. That's even if I have put the strap on and really pulled it tight to the point I feel I'm strangling my leg! Oh well, I'll just fiddle about with other things to see if I can use a work-around

Thanks all for responding.
I do believe that the workout with EA Sports MW IS worth the trouble to figure out all of the little glitches.
I did end up cutting off the top of an old sock and stitching it onto the leg of my workout pants. - I it works like a charm! (although there are still some movements that it does not register correctly)
I did end up finding where I could customize workouts and created one with just boxing, one with just squash, one with just obstacle course etc.
I also gave up on the Wii Balance board and went to a regular step aerobics step. Now I get a much more intense workout.
These adjustments have just made EA Sports MW my new favorite program!!!!!!
I too have the feeling that I make the most out of my time i.e. burn a lot more calories in the same amount of time with EA Sports than with Wii Fit. I do have to add that Wii Fit was the bridge that got me to this point.
PS - I will add that I have lost 25 pounds since starting the Wii way of exercising December 29th.
