We got our WiiFit last year in February with some gift certificates we had gotten at Christmas. My husband and I began using it faithfully and adapting our eating habits. I have lost over 30 lbs and he has lost almost 20 (I'm more dedicated than he is!) We also walk in our tiny village when the weather allows and have become significantly more active. I have at least 30 more pounds to lose this year. We want to take it off slowly since it took us over 45 years to put it on!

Hi Peggy, I've seen a couple of your posts elsewhere in the forum. My wife and I got our Wii in nov and I have lost 5 lbs so far. I would like to lose about 15 more but will take my time. I am semi retired and winter is worst for me as in Nova Scotia it is too cold and too much snow for me to enjoy the outdoors. rest of year I am outside almost all day on golf course but not much goes on there this time of year:-( I enjoy the social aspect of this forum as well as the physical exercise. Lots of nice folk here. Have fun and good luck with your weight loss.

Losing it slow is the way to go. All these crash diets that people do are bad for you.

It took me most of my life to put on this weight, I don't expect to lose it quickly :)

I lost about 40lbs in 2009, and I found another plus to losing it slowly, your skin has time to adjust. I've known people who've lost lots of weight very fast, and they always end up with lots of saggy skin, especially around the face. Losing it slowly lets your skin slowly adjust.

I wonder if the saggy tummy skin ever goes away? I keep hoping that all my crunches will tighten something up but there's still some jiggly stuff left behind that refuses to leave!

I wouldn't worry too much about day to day fluctuations. Mine often goes up and down by a few pounds from day to day.

The yellow line in the graph is my actual weight, the red line is the rolling average. As you can see, it bounces around all over the place.

Hi Peggy, thanks for your introduction. Glad you are here; it is a friendly place. Congrats on your weight loss! I am working on that too. I hope to meet my goal by summer so I am not totally miserable in my clothes.

Don't tell jvv, but pizza has tons of salt in it and if he drinks enough water to flush it out, he will lose some of that weight. Of course, pizza has lots of fat, too, so he deserves a pound or two. lol. Now don't compare that to my French Diet comments about fat. ;) Actually, the Mediterranean diets are healthful and a pizza made with the right ingredients is great! If only all the pizza places would figure that out (and care).

Indeed. A proper Italian pizza is very thin and crispy, not the cheese laden half loaf of bread that we have over here :)

I always order thin and crispy ones where I have the choice.

I agree real Italian is healthier, but in our house Friday night supper has always been junk food nite. We try hard to eat healthy all week but after work Friday we allow ourselves to cheat a little. It helps take away the temptation to cheat all week, I have been drinking alot mor water so am hoping the gain is temporary. May have to rething the Friday night thing though.

Likewise, I am always "off-diet" at weekends for the same reason. I find being constantly on-diet all seven days just doesn't work. Knowing I can relax for two days a week means I am more conscientious on weekdays, and because I get used to eating less during the week, I actually don't eat that much more at weekends.

It takes time to lose weight properly, so if you don't allow yourself some slack it can get pretty dull :)

I put on two kg this weekend, entirely due to a party last night, too much drink and food, I felt very bloated this morning, but I know it will be gone in the next two days. Retention of water and other stuff has a big part to play in how your weight changes on a day to day basis.
