I bought a Wii Fit after thinking about it for a long time. I've wanted to go out to a keep fit class, or a gym for ages, but going to bed at 9pm to be able to get up at 4.45am to get to my job just doesn't leave me the time or energy to get out there!
I'm hopeful that Wii Fit will make a difference in the right direction. I'm sticking with the philosophy that it's better than continuing with the nothing I've been doing up to now!
The initial test was a bit of a wake-up call! I'm actually 44 but have a Wii Fit age of 57! I also seem to have poor balance - but I have now managed to tight-rope a whole 6 meters!
I started on Thursday and am really enjoying the exercises, but I think I might stick mostly with the aerobic exercises given that a main aim is to shift a bit of weight. I've lost about a 1lb so far. (Probably helps that I've been hyper aware of what I'm eating too and have avoided my normal between meal snacks.)
With the Training excercises, are you supposed to work through them in sequence? If that's the case I don't think I'll be doing much muscle strengthening. It's so painful on my ankles to balance on one leg for that first excercise. I haven't managed it yet!
I haven't managed to get a 'perfect' in the first step excercise. I've been following the Wii folk. It says I should be faster getting on and off the board - should I be going faster than the Wii folk? As far as I'm aware, I'm perfectly in time with them!
The jogging was more fun than I expected. And I was better at it than I thought I would be!
All in all, if I keep this up - and watch what I eat - I'm hopeful that I'll be doing myself some good!
I'll post my BMI etc. next time and let you know how it's going!

Hey Sue!
I am in the same spot as you. I am 44 and just started on wii fit last week. I think I have done 5 work outs. I have been doing it each day for about 30 minutes (on the fit bank). I am showing unbalanced, couch potato and not agility not my strength each day. I am also watching my weight more now that I have been doing this each day. So we are in the same boat. I look forward to progressing with you and others in the next couple of months.

Hi Kim,
It's nice to know I'm not alone
I skipped yesterday because I'm out every other Wednesday evening - so today, I've made up for it, kind of! I really like the ski jumping and slalom, and I'm getting better at the steps. (After reading some of the other posts I realised I'd been using the balance board the wrong way round! )
My starting weight was 11st 9lb and today I've measured in at 11st 5lb. Even allowing for the plus or minus 2lb the Wii board says we fluctuate during the day, I've lost at least 2lb!
My BMI has gone down a little. 25.58
I have noted advice about diet also and have found a self discipline I didn't think I had over the last week. I've managed to avoid chocolate and muffins and flapjacks! I think the daily body check is a good motivator to stay off the chocolates!

I'm getting a bit addicted to my Wii Fit! Almost obsessive compulsive. So clever of the Nintendo programmers. Let me get a score in a game or excercise - something in me just *has* to keep on and on and on until I beat it! (Trouble is, hubby is also pretty keen and the first one in gets it and the other has to wait!)
Anyhow, Today's BMI is 25.09 and my weight is 11st 2lb
