Hi, I was bought Wii Fit Plus for my birthday. I'm still experimenting and trying out for now. My experience of computer gaming is virtually non existent so I think that makes it a little harder for me to get used to ! So far I've done steps, cycling, yoga, rythym boxing, rythym kung fu, jogging, I've clocked up almost two hours in two days. I intend to use it at least four times a week. My kids are ten and six and seem to have a natural inclination to understand better ! generation gap ! My BMI is in the 'ideal' category but I want to bring that down more.
I admit to finding some of the balance exercises really hard, I think it may be a matter of practice. I also think that some of the training games and balance games could be explained a little better. or maybe I should ask my kids ! I'd like to post here regularly on my progress (or lack of) and to keep up with others here.
I agree 100% on asking your kids - they're a valuable resource!!! Would your kids be willing to show you how to play the games? Just say 'I'm not going so good at this game, could I watch you play and pick up some pointers?' If your kids aren't self-conscious about their bodies, this would be a really good way to show them that you value their expertise. (while picking up enough pointers to beat them thoroughly on the scoreboards... )
