As I reported here, we can look forward to Tetris on the Wii in the guise of Tetris Party.
Well, there is now more information available, and it is looking even more fun than I was hoping for. There are 18 play modes in total, including several multiplayer modes (both local and networked). As well as the usual game play, you can also do a Tetris "marathon", try to complete a shape using the bricks, and a kind of obstacle course. The most interesting mode is the balance board mode. You tilt left and right to move the blocks, squat to rotate, and lean forward to drop the block. It looks like it could be pretty hard, but fantastic for working on your balance, a great addition to the Wii Fit balance games.
The multi-player modes look good fun, well and truly putting the "party" in Tetris Party. While the Wii is a great party machine, it is good to see more games with direct head to head play, rather than turn based, as in much of Mario Olympics.
