Hi folks,
My name is Don and I am 67 and retired. I bought my Wii FitPlus two months ago and the first month I lost 6 pounds and the second month 1 pound. I seem to have hit a wall on weight loss but my body is changing shape.

I was always thin until I had a heart attack twenty years ago. Doctors told me to go on a low fat diet and I did. Big mistake! Over ten years I packed on 50 pounds at a rate of five pounds a year. It came on so slowly I barely noticed it and it all went to my mid-section. About five years ago I got up to 200 pounds and stopped all sodas and chocolate and dropped 20 pounds and stayed there. I began slowly gaining again and got up to 185. Now I have the Wii and weather is no longer a factor. I still try to walk every morning and only missed about four days in the past sixty with my Wii.

My goal is to get my waist-hip-ratio below 0.9. (Waist divided by hip measurement). When I first started with my Wii Fit my ratio was 1.10 today it is
1.05 with losing 3" off my waist and 7 pounds.

I have never been a big eater and I also have hypothyroidism that is well controlled with meds. I consume between 1200 and 1500 calories a day. Some days I may get down to 1000 and never exceed 1800 calories if I pig-out.

After 60 days my Wii still keeps my interest up. I think it is great for seniors, not just for weight loss, but especially for balance and control.

Yes the Wii Fit will help more then only reducing weight. Turning fat into muscles will not show up at a normally scale. Fit mean more the the "right" weight, it means to be fairly good a all aspects of live. Agility, balance and reaction (both somatic and mental) are often underestimated. Using Wii Fit continually help a lot by most of them.

Improved balance and control will improve your posture which will, in turn, not only immediately improve how you look and move, but make it easier for you to do more exercise. This is because you will be using your body as it is meant to be used.

One thing I have found is that having correct posture while I am eat helps me to better control what I eat. First of all, the food travels more easily to the stomach, filling it faster. Second of all, it makes me aware of my body, and that makes me aware of the fact that I want to continue to get into better shape.

Again, welcome to the forum. Have a look at the hints and tips section and let us know if you have any new cycle routes or have found out how to open the doors, or anything like that.
