Does it make any difference, other than appearance, whether you have the male or female trainer ?

I chose the male, but I wondered if he is tailored to males, for example one of the exercises I did I found very hard as it needed a lot of upper body strength, more for a man, with more muscle strength. Yet I amazingly scored very well on it.

Are some of the exercises done slightly differently for men/women ?

According to this interview, it was originally intended that you only had a female trainer (as the development team is full of men  ). Later on, a male trainer was added. I think they have different personalities, but it would be unfair if they scored the activities differently. I don't know if Wii Fit makes any adjustments for differences in musculature between males and females.

My understanding is that the exercises are identical whichever one you pick.

I have however noticed that people seem to pick the alternate gender, both men and women.

I have a theory that in part it is because we don't find the opposite gender instructor as intimidating. I don't know about everyone else, but I find the male instructor just a little intimidatingly perfect to want to look at everyday :) On the other hand, I don't compare myself to the female instructor.

Of course it could be just because I'm a bloke ;)

I'm waiting for the first person to have an argument with their other half over spending so much time with their virtual trainer of the opposite sex :)

 My OH has made comments, only in jest of course !

I agree, women tend to compare themselves with other women, and men with men I imagine. Mind you if I had a real life trainer I suppose I may feel less self conscious with another woman.

Thanks for the link qwerty girl. Am I the only person who has sworn at their trainer ?

Heh, I think everyone has sworn at their trainer at some point :)

I've posted a quick poll about which trainer you use.

Am I the only one to find it ever-so-slightly annoying when the other personal trainer fills in 'for the day', only to go away after one exercise? Don't slack off, you unnaturally pale people! :P

They are sooooo very pale.

I think they need to get out of the gym a bit and go for a run :)

I noticed that too ! I think there should be a wider choice anyway ! ;)

I've only ever had the man up to now, is he likely to swan off somewhere and leave me with the woman ? ;) They must want to keep us on our toes ! :)

Yeah, that would be so awesome to create the appearance of your own trainer just like we can create our own Mii character (Mine kind of looks like me!).

If it's of any entertainment value, I did create a second Mii to look like my husband and he is the Mii that I get to see in the boxing in Wii Resort Sports. He hates the way I punch him out in most of the rounds. ;)

I have many problems with the trainers...

1) the lack of lips or facial movments...creepy*

2) why are her clothes disapearing? (more clothes on the wii fit than the wii fit plus)

3) why does he yell at me, and she just repeat things...

4) are they undead? Why so pale?

5) why do they kep telling me to encourage my husband when he is doing so much better than the rest of us...and NEVER tells him to encourage us? (men!)
