While the other boxer on the game is showing you how to do the "next step," is there a way to speed that up or just stop it altogether? I find that I spend about 5 minutes just watching the other guy show me simple steps.
Yep, there is a rhythm boxing game in the cadio workout section. It isn't a boxing match with a competitor but the kind of boxing routines you might do at an aerobics class.
I've been doing pretty well with the Step workouts - in fact I find them really easy to keep in time with the rhythm. BUT . . . I can't get the rhythm in the Boxing so my score is pathetic. Anyone know what i am doing wrong? Should I be punching harder!??? Or are the points all to do with the rhythm?
You get one point for the punch, and an extra point for being spot on the rhythm.
If you are getting no points, then the punches are clearly not registering. Try punching a little harder, or adding a little "snap" of the wrists at the end of the punch. Although be careful not to over-extend your joints, it can cause damage.
If you find the rhythm hard to get, try intentionally going slightly late or early. Do it systematically to try and work out what the rhythm is. When I started out I kept going just a little bit too early for the rhytm.
Thanks for the advice. I am hitting the targets OK and getting points but can't get beyond about 300 and always get 2 stars and a sarky remark about the fact that I didn't do very well! I'll try adjusting my footwork as you suggest and see what happens - hopefully this will rack up some more points.

I've only tried this twice but both times the training guy said " you didn't even break a sweat, did you ?", cheek !
I thought I did okay except I probably was getting my right and left mixed up a couple of times, and I find it hard to co-ordinate my feet at the same time ! I thought I was hitting pretty hard though.
I wondered if the routines are varied everytime or do they always follow the same routines, if so, I stand a chance of learning them and getting better.
I really like the rythym Kung Fu but I'm no good at it, I only tried once, but my daughter tried it today, she lost patience and almost gave up, she still beat my score ! she's 6.
The boxing uses the same basic sequences all the times, so you will get the hang of it. It does vary the complete workout each time though, so there is always some variation.
