How do the running activities work? not the 10,20 or 30 minute runs but the short run, long run island lap etc where you follow the dog.
I'm not super fit but wouldnt say im unfit, but whenever i do these running activites i get a really low running efficiency score. I feel like i am running at a fairly gd pace. How does it work out your running efficiency percentage?
Also for the last few months or so, whenever i do these running activities it says that i am running at an unsteady pace, and speeds up n slows down all the time, when i am staying at a fairly steady pace.
I find that holding it in my hand works much better than putting it in my pocket. Also, if you have a spare Wii Remote, holding that in my other hand helps to balance things out and maintain a better and more consistent rhythm.

Only have 1 remote at mo but looking to get a 2nd remote soon so will give it a try. Thanks
You have to do a bit more than just hold it in your hand, although that is a requirement. If you want to measure your burn rate under the best conditions, you have to hold the Wiimote still in your hand, that is, you can't move your arms as you jog. Ignore the messages on the screen imploring you to move your arms. I hold the Willmote in front of me as I jog. I only hold one Wiimote, though, even though I do have two. It works out reasonably well for me. I have an Island Lap burn rate of 347%, so I must be doing something right.
You also have to jog at a very steady pace. By steady, I mean that each step should take the same amount of time. You can help this by counting as you jog: 'one, two', that sort of thing. You can judge whether you are getting better at timing not just by the burn rate but by the amount of time it takes to do a particular jog: it should take you the same amount of time plus or minus one minute, to do a particular jog. If your jog times are not within this range, then you need to work on your timing. It's better, for burning calories, to jog at a steady, slow rate, then to jog at a fast but uneven pace.
Controlling your breathing also helps you to keep a steady pace. Pay attention to when you breathe in and out and time them, in a way that is comfortable for you, with your steps.

Hrm, odd.
I've always jogged and swung my arms at the same time. Never had a problem.
Oh, I should have explained a bit more on this point. What often happens when people swing their arms is that they clip their sides occasionally and this disturbs the Wiimote's recording of the pace. I just assumed that this happened sooner or later to everyone who swings their arms, but, obviously, I was wrong on that point.
Still, it's something to remember if someone is getting a low burn rate.

So, don't run with my arms clipping my sides which is the way one would do so if they were using correct form?
I will try both your suggestions on the running parts because I run fast but score very very low. My running pace is inconsistent and I would like the improvement. Thanks
