According to the ELSPA sales charts for the Wii, Wii fit has spent another week at the top of the charts, along with Wii Play and Mario Kart. That makes it six weeks at the top now. What this doesn't tell you is: are people buying it for Wii Fit, or for the balance board? No-one ever bought Wii Play for the game, you buy it to get the second controller. I think the balance board is rapidly becoming a standard addon controller for the Wii. With the number of third-party games coming out over the next few months that support it, this will only increase.

What I find even more astonishing is that Wii Fit is also number three on the all games chart. It is only beaten by FIFA 09 and LEGO Batman.

I really should buy some Nintendo stock. The big N is making profit on every console, controller, Wii Fit and most of the top selling games out there (all the best games are by Nintendo at the moment). Who would have thought, five years ago, that Nintendo would once again become the dominant player in the console market? Personally I was convinced they were doomed, but I underestimated their creativity and originality.
