I stopped all my important work and got on the board to give this a try. Amazingly, I went off in the right spot the first try! However, I wanted to get the balloons at the castle and behind, so I went back up and started at the top. Once back to the triangle area, I was hopeless. I tried over and over for two full 30 minute sessions! I did get it again with five minutes left on my second session. I know the Sweet Spot now, and many Sour Spots as well, but that Sweet Spot is hard to hit even when you know right where it is. It is miniscule!
When you get it right, it looks like you are falling onto rock. Before and after that area, there are areas where you can look down and see the knoll, the ramp and the balloon. But forget falling there. You have to fall onto rock to land on the grass. Unless there may be another miniscule spot somewhere else. I have begun to think that there may be many such sweet spots on the mountain roads, but finding them will probably happen by accident.
It seems to me that this particular spot is hard enough to hit that it precludes making a route using it to save time. Although I am willing to try some more to get the exact pinpoint spot. I could do better with improved relations between my wiimote and my bike!
On some jumps, it seems to be important which direction your wheel is turned. I think that is probably the case with this one, too. I doubt, from experience, that you can do the drop if you start up at Hump Rock and head down.
One other thing I learned: if you pass the sweet spot going uphill and then off, you start over up by Hump Rock. If you go off even slightly downhill from the spot, you start over down below the triangle heading for the tunnel. Could it be that there are such spots right between more (or all) of the determining points (points determining where you will start over)??? Spots that, if you find them, will take you to new locations?

I've tried for 3 sessions to hit the spot without success but now you give me hope again. I have come back both above and below the spot so I need to just keep trying between, probably no good to use unless it gets a lot easier to hit. Wouldn't it be nice if you could put an X to mark the spot. I bought Wii Fit resort tonight after playing last night with the grandkids. Everything on the island seems to have a name but I doubt we could remember them all. I was playing flyby and am having a blast exploring.

Yes, it is fun to have hit it a couple of times, but I agree- it's too hard to use for a shortcut. Even knowing right where it is. This one made me realize how hard the bike is to manage!
It does make me want to try the rest of the ridge, anyway; there is a lot of road edge space where that plateau shows as you fall down from it, and maybe some of it will turn out to be an actual live jump or resurrection jump. It could be very very useful if it worked out.

Yes that's true. It looks like the programmers set a grid all over the island and if you going dead it will set you at a start up point of this piece of grid. If you where near the borderlines a minor difference will set you to the other starting point.

But what happens if you bike over that small point? A reward? A surprise relocation? It did happen in this so called sweet spot. Not that it means it will happen at other such points, but it would be interesting to know.
I guess one would have to keep stopping and starting over to locate those points; probably around a billion times.

Yay, nice award! I'll print him out and put him up as a reminder of all my hard work.
