Me too. If you read this CD1 please respond. And Kescah are you sure you are not just messing with my head about the Duckling lake Jump. I just can't do it. I keep trying to hit a spot on the cliff that takes we toward the castle, so I move a bit to the left and end up toward the tunnel, then try between that but just can't find the magic spot
Hi Guys,
Gee, I wish I discovered a jump from the ruins. But, you should know me by now, I would have had pictures, videos, and detailed instructions...
Hey, maybe I should revisit this scene.
Actually, I think I remember someone mentioning that they were able to jump down from the ruins (some time way back in January). I believe they said when you hit the balloon you just keep going straight. BUT, you know what, that sounds like the plummet" on the balloon across the road from the ruins. When I get time I'll see if I can find the post.
In regard to the "Duckling Lake" plummet I gave up long ago. It is so hard to get it right, it could not be used in a viable route. I am actually glad I did take pictures just to prove I was not making the plummet up. Considering how hard this jump is to execute, it is a miracle I discovered it at all

OK about the Duckling Lake (triangle) jump, I believe you and I will keep trying by moving a little left or right each time. Becaue of its difficulty I doubt I will ever use it to cut times. Have you ever managed to jump down from behind the ruins LaJoggeuse (without the underscore)

Looks like we have a new leader folks. Congrats DiDi. Post your time so Phunguy will know he has to get off his but and try harder again. Are you actually starting at the triangle and going up the mountain to Camel Rock. I tried that way and for me it was quite a bit longer. I did 5 runs today and got around 17:25+ each time. Sweat was literally dripping off me. I did cut a few metres off though, I think I was losing speed as I got more tired. I took a break and went to beginner level and finally broke 1 km Still 90 m behind the leader though. I'm happy

No, never. I tried for 30 minutes once, from every angle I could manage. Just ended up back in the ruins. Oh well.
I keep looking at those doors in the ruins. Someday, maybe, they will open... that is my hope, anyway.

Yes, it is a miracle. It is also a miracle that I did it on my first attempt! At that point I was excited and trying to figure out a whole new route to take advantage of it. That would have been great. But the jump off point is miniscule and I spent tons of time trying to repeat it. Which I eventually managed. But as a part of a route, no.
I'm glad you make pictures too! One of them shows the exact spot that you have to hit to succeed. JVV, I'm assuming you are aware of that spot and have tried to hit it. Um, don't go a half inch to the right or left of it....

Jvv - Yes, I am starting at the triangle and going up the mountain. On a good run, I pop the balloon at the dry lakebed at 27 minutes, 30 seconds. Between the triangle and including the jump off into the dry lakebed, there's 4 timesaving cheats(also I don't go around the castle- just head right, pop then back out).
If the pet cooperates, you can hit the ruins and be back out on the main road with over 17 minutes left and hit the beach around 16 minutes - run the beach for 3 minutes and Viola! 13 minutes left. I think I actually could have gotten under 17 but the pet wouldn't cooperate on the last balloon - Arghhh!
We need an "Under 18 Minutes" thread now! Now the goal is under 17 minutes. I double dog dare ya!

I was having my best feeling run ever this morning and then, when I got into town and was about to go up the ramp to the balloon above, I went sideways off the ramp! My cat disappeared and there I was cycling around to get back on the ramp. At that point I started trying things out that I have wanted to and none of it worked. From A+++ to F in seconds.

I do the same Kescah, I have points all along the route that i judge my progress by and if it doesn't look like I will speed up I try a new route change or measure distances if I go left or right.... I really think that my route could break 17 if perfect but DiDis route must be faster with practise becaue she did it so quickly. Anyway the same route gets a little boring so I will practise hers for a few days. I hate going over the same part of the route twice but her route seems to start that way. I can't seem to start close to the balloon but am way back at the rock so I have to pop and turn around. But keep your eyes open DiDi cause I am practising behind you.
