Thought I would start a new thread so newbies would see that we have gone way beyond 26.5 minutes to burst the balloons but not spoil it for those just starting out. I think this thread will concentrate more on techniques that cheats
OK Phunguy I know this doesn't count but I think I would have beat you today and maybe.... broke the 17 minute barrier. I just missed the first balloon on the beach behind the resort and bad kittie didn't do the thing (bad kittie) but I decided to continue and see what would happen. Things go so fast at the end but I know it could have been better than 17:05. I'll get it next time I hope, need to take a break after a run like that. I try to do that run at least twice a day and I keep getting so close..... 17:30 is easy now but still a workout. I am trying to lift my feet to the maximum I can to maintain the most speed without going too fast, it seems to help but only time will tell. Straigher lines also improve time, I now go over the rock after the castle, took a little practise but is shorter. I am sticking with my riute even though I have tried others, going up hill at the sactle doesn't work for me and the cheat at Duckling Lake for me is impossible. ( I suspect you are trying to divert my efforts into fruitless directions) :D :D

Wow, you guys are my heroes! I can't get below 24.10, yet. But I will!! I plan to spend this afternoon finding a shortcut from the ruins (temple?) There's got to be another way down, without dying, maybe... :?

If you find a way to jump down I want to know. I can get on the cliff on both side behind and ride part way down but have yet to make the bottom. There are lots of cheats here on the forum if you want them but I don't think anyone has as yet (hope reigns eternal) got down from the ruins or opened a door.

Applause for starting a new thread. I think we need new threads with good titles on each level of cycling. We could bring in important comments from other threads (copy/paste) and maps. I have thought about this for some time, but don't have time to do it myself, so if anyone wants to, feel free.

I think it would be hard to edit other threads as everyone might have a different opinion of what should be left in. Some humor breaks the boredom but I am sure alot could be taken out also.
I still can't get down the drop at Ducking Lake. I say I am going to give up but I keep going back for more punishment. :D

Yes, that is a painful jump, since it almost always does not work. Have you gotten it even once yet? If not, you have to keep at it to prove that it can be done.

Can't do the Duckling Lake plummet, and now I have problems doing the one above the castle (to the dry lake bed) although I know some people have set good times on that route. I made 18:32.35 on the JVV/Phunguy "standard" route just now - my first time under 19 min so I am ecstatic - even made it back to the start with 5 minutes left!!

Somebody - I think cd1 - has made it to the blacktop by jumpbing off the ruins after getting the balloon.

Me too. If you read this CD1 please respond. And Kescah are you sure you are not just messing with my head about the Duckling lake Jump. I just can't do it. I keep trying to hit a spot on the cliff that takes we toward the castle, so I move a bit to the left and end up toward the tunnel, then try between that but just can't find the magic spot :(

You are talking about the one near the triangle, right? It really is possible as the pictures showed. I did it twice, or maybe three times. Strange, though, you can't drop toward the grass below, you have to drop as if into the "saddle" of the rock, on the rocky connection between the rock and the cliff you just cycled off of. Like the pictures showed. The grassy plateau shows before and after the rock, but you have to dive down on the rock. It is the same with the other jump down toward the dry lake bed. You have to dive down on the rocky saddle. The triangle one is much harder to find the spot on.
