Hello clrl,
great work, but some questions:
1. Did you use my flag positions that I made very, very raw free out of mind or set you the flag positions a bit more accurate?
2. Did you calculate the shortening by using dog (pet)? Some of us use the dog very extensive to cut off there own ways.

Keep in mind that right now the best route on the expert course from cynique was only 10.702 km
(Source: the High Scores table of the Wii Fit forum set up by jvv).
And yes, it was really kilometres not miles.

Thanks. Great maps by the way...
1. I used your map positions at the base of the poles.
2. No I didn't use the dog shortenings. I just tried to get an idea of the distances and possible ways to go about it.
10.702 km is 6.65 miles! What route was used?
Our best so far is 8.1 miles but we haven't mastered the dog shortenings very much yet.

I set the flag only to show other people where they can find it and then I numbered it like my used route.

Numbered by the flags, strait as possible and let do the dog – that I call near the bridge by the castle – (marked on the map with an brown spot) a lot of work. :D

I mostly learning using the dog from cynique and in one topic (I can't found it quick) is an description of some parts of the route.
Look at http://www.wiifitforum.org/wiki/index.php/Island_Cycling – "I's a dog's live"

1. Approximate position of flag poles should be ok to estimate the larger distances between other features.
2. That link is fine to learn the dog feature.
I have problems following the "Walkthrough" (at the end of the link) though.
Step 9.- The flag on the white gravel area is F13, not F9.
Step: 10.- The flag behind the building on the grass (lighthouse) is F19, not F10
Seems to be a different numbering system. Is there a map for that?

But going back to your map, how do you go from F7 to F8 (in your map numbering system)? (F7 is on the grass right after the exit of the cave with F6, and F8 is in the short tunnel or arch on the tarmac road on the West side) - We haven't found a short route...

This "Walkthrough" is from Stevierobson and I didn't check it. I don't think the Wiki is the right place for a "Walkthrough" but I didn't delete it. I move it only to the next free position and fix the table.

Simply jump near the tunnel down to the road. The dog will follow you. 8-)

Thanks! it worked great. The web page is updated:
with the new data and we did an actual run and got 7.44 mile. Calculated distances total 7.57 miles.
Great day! New bike and new record. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

One problem is that we didn't find any dogs in the course.   :?:
Any reason for that?
We had dogs before but they got to be fewer and fewer and none now.

No, that's new for me. I never hear about this problem before.
Didn't you found a dog by the bridge near the upper side of the waterfall. I don't mean the bridge to the castle!

Yes, there's a dog in that location but it's out of the way to claim the flags. The shortest route seems to us is from F4 to inside the castle, go left around the wall up to F5 and back the same way. The East route back that goes close to the bridge you mentioned that has the dog is longer than the West route down.
The question is: is the longer distance to catch the dog less than the extra distance gained using the dogs?
The dog stayed until we got in the water :? and then went away. I register a new dog and a new cat but it didn't show up next time around in the bicycle run.
We run the bell several time trying to get dogs which maybe we missed seeing but no luck.
Oh well, three (new bike, 4 starts, new record-latest 7.345m-) out of four (no dogs) is not too bad.
Thanks for all your help! :D

Good job! I've never heard of no dogs on the route either. Did you see cats? There should have been a pet near where you jump down near the tunnel. Unless I'm thinking of the wrong tunnel? The jump is from the plateau above the spiraling metal ramp?
