An old blog article from Stephen Fry as just popped up in my news reader (no idea why), which along with a general review of the Wii and Wii Fit, sums up in two sentences why Wii Fit is so great, even if it is no replacement for a good diet.
Quote:
For me and millions of others, anything approaching walking, running or lifting for fitness has always been out of the question on account of the way time slows down so mercilessly. But if our health-giving routines can be made part of some witty, graphically impressive, compelling game, think what this could do for the health of the nation.
Bingo. It isn't that it is exercise, it is that it can be fun. It may not be as tough as a long run, but I'm infinitely more likely to bounce out of bed to play Wii Fit than I am to don my trainers and go for a jog.
