I bought a Wii and balance board for my husband but he is not fit enough to stand on the board. I anticipated this but what I didn't anticipate was that I wouldn't be able to find a firm and sturdy stool or chair with a footprint bigh enough for the board to work. I have looked at bariatric disability stools but although they are wide enough they have insufficient depth. Is the illustration on this site of a child's board perhaps?

Which site are you referring too? - www.wiihabilitation.co.uk? If so - then the stool you would have seen was an 'old' commode stool that had the commode removed and a piece of MDF put in instead. That way we have been able to use the handles as well - as a few of the patients need to hold on to something whilst playing to help them balance.

Its a tight fit for the balance board, but it works a treat. Its a shame that there is nothing commercially available, although your idea of the bariatric is a great idea!!

If you want/need dimensions of the stool I use at work then let me know - I won't be able to get back to you before the New Year, but will happily do so in due course!

Hope this helps,
