I love the running part of the Wii Fit, but I'm getting tired of running the same route over and over.
I want to run up on top and be able to look down, if that makes any sense.

Does the route ever change the longer you use Wii?
I've been using it since January 2010.

Thanks,

Diane

Are you following the dogs? If you have done the Basic Run Plus runs, are you following the cats that will also appear in the Basic Run?

If not, what will happen is that a dog will bark and run up from behind you and run past you. If you want to follow him, run past your guide. The dog will then be your new guide. The same goes for cats, but they meow, not bark. The dogs go different routes. In the Island Run, for instance, one of them will take you across the wooden bridge and actually have you make a leap from a cliff! In the Island Run, there are five dogs and one cat, each following a different route. Combined with the human guide's route, that gives you a choice of seven routes. The other levels also have a choice of routes.

Give it a try and also, if you have Wii Fit Plus, give the Basic Run Plus a try.

I prefer to do the Island Cycling but am also tired of the scenery. Need new and more challenging routes for the cycling. Is there anything else out there? I have the Wii Sports Resort, but don't really care for the cycling with my hands. May have to try the running.

To get different routes in the running sprint past the Mii in front of you, they will then be replaced by a dog that you follow. These dogs take you along different routes around the island.

I don't find I have 7 different routes. I ALWAYS get a cat as a guide from the start. I always get another cat, so I end up with a choice of 2 routes. How do I get a person or a dog as a guide? It seems to not work on my Wii Fit Plus basic run

For the running and cycling lovers I'd like to recommend you pick up "Walk it Out" It will completely cure your scenery problems.

The mechanics of the game play are very similar to cycling so the cycling lovers will probably enjoy it more. The island for "Walk it Out" is almost twice the size of Wuhu island and through the course of the game you are engaged in earning points to add things like buildings and trees to your island. You do have to contend with a "don't walk on the grass" mentality of pre-determined paths but you're completely free to choose your route and which paths you take. The soundtrack is also pretty good.

The thing is like crack. I've had it about 2 months and I still play it for at least 45 minutes every day so it was well worth the investment.

To get a different cat (route) don't follow the second cat. Wait for a different one. It's the same with the dogs. If you always race past your guide the first time a critter shows up, you'll always go the same way. Keep following until a critter passes in a different location, to get a different route. It does make it more fun and interesting.
