I am having some trouble with the Snowball Fight in WiiFit+. A couple of times now, my brandnew Motion Plus Controller, with fresh batteries, freezes up on the lower part of the screen and I can't throw snowballs. What am I doing wrong or how do I unstick it?

Maybe your to near or to far away from the sensor bar or you move in other ways the Wii remote out of sight of the sensor bar.

That does sound like the most likely cause. If you are too close or far away from the sensor bar then it may have problems.

Also, you can change the sensitivity of the sensors in the Wii Mote in case there is a problem with other light sources or reflections. I think you get to it through the main Wii settings page (press the little house button on the controller).

The Wii sensor bar is actually just two infra-red lights, one at each end of the bar. The little black window on the Wii controller hides a tiny infra-red camera which can see these two spots of light, and therefore can work out where it is pointing. If the light from the bar is bouncing off another surface, or if there are other sources of IR near the TV, then that can confuse the Wii remote. You can change the sensitivity so that the camera can only see the two lights on the sensor bar.

Thanks Paul and Methusalem, I will try that. I just found another blog about snowball fights and someone (in France I think) says you can knock down a thrown snowball, I'm no where near that feat, if I can just hit a few of the Miis before I'm out of snowballs I'll be happy (I think my high score is 7).

Ah, yes, shooting down snowballs. That was me, here on WiiFitForum... Yes, you can. I did it again today, in fact. Earlier this week, my record on Advanced rose to (Oh, dear, I'll make you jealous...) 72.

Oh, and you'll be glad to hear that you cannot run out of snowballs. :D

Thanks cynique;
I always seem to run out of snowballs, or out of time. I am jealous of your record but it gives me a goal. I may never get to the advanced stage at the rate I'm going though. However the thought of having snowball fights in the August heat is a good thing.
