Gamasutra are reporting that Ubisoft are to release their own camera for the Wii, taking on Microsoft's "Project Natal" motion tracking system.
The camera will ship with the "Your Shape" game, due out in the summer holiday period, and will analyse your body shape (hence the name), and use it to help assess your fitness, and design a customised fitness regime for you.
I'm a regular user of My Fitness Coach, but the lack of any kind of feedback means that it is not much more than just a modern version of a fitness DVD, so this sounds like an excellent idea.
There is a video of "Your Shape" in use over at Ubisoft's official website, and if it really works as well as it appears, it should be great, removing the need to faff around with controllers, and making it so much easier to work out without stopping. I'm not sure I really want to see myself exercising on screen throughout my routine, but the proof will be in the pudding.
