I have another one - the voice of the balance-board which narrates the entire program - there really should be some choices. I know the cartoon-like voice is charming, but some people have trouble hearing and understanding what it is saying!

I recently bought Wii Fit for my 85 yr old dad who likes to stay active and is recovering from a brain trauma. But he is extremely hard of hearing, and the tone of that balance-board character is impossible for him to hear. It is extremely frustrating for him.

Perhaps the cartoon voice could be the default, but in user profile settings you should be able select a deeper male or female voice, perhaps the same voices used for the trainers.

Not sure if you have signed up with Club Nintendo, https://club.nintendo.com/ but if you haven't you should. Register your Wii and Balance Board, and any other Nintendo game (you get points), and you will be able to give suggestions and comments.

The WiiBoard character has a voice? This is a surprise to me. I haven't heard it speak. All I see is the text. Maybe it's because I have the language set to French, I don't know. The trainers speak, though, and in French.

Really? You're wii board doesn't talk? Just to clarify, the balance board itself doesn't talk, but the animated on-screen character of the balance board does.

He kinda sounds like a munchkin... talks you through your body test... tells you when to step on and step off, and says "ooooh" when you step on the scale.

Anyway, my dad's hearing impairment effects his ability to hear higher pitch sounds, so that munchkin-like voice is indistinguishable for him. I have perfect hearing, but even I am annoyed by it. I would much rather hear the trainer's voice.

That said, I was watching a you-tube video clip of Rhythm Boxing and the trainer had a British accent. I thought that was really cool and wondered how I could get that. I went into my settings to look for United Kingdom or Great Britain on my Country selector and it wasn't there. I am sure there are various version releases depending on where the system is sold. So I guess I can't have access to that voice.

I'm in the UK and the boxing trainer and two personal trainers all have British accents. I guess we get a localised version of the game with different voice acting. I can't discern what accent the animated balance board has, but I find its tone irritating, especially when it gives unsolicited advice. I've been nagged about staying up late, not logging in every single day, my husband not weighing in and even my cat not weighing in.

I find it funny when it sags in apparent disappointment when I say I don't want a fitness tip, though.
