I did an hour this morning, half an hour cycling, some yoga and a mix of other things. Plenty walking today too. Only 1 pound up, so that's okay. I expected worse actually !

Yeah, I need to take it easy and not push to hard to fast. Quick way to end up injured. I took today off from exercise. I got a massage this morning and she really worked on my hips. They feel so much better I ddn't want to turn right around and mess them up again! I'll get back to it tomorrow. One day off now and then probably isn't a bad idea at this stage of the game as long as I go back to work the next day.

I got a wild hair yesterday and searched Ebay for exercise videos. Ended up bidding on an auction for 70 different VHS exercise videos. Got the whole lot for about $20 bucks! If I like two of them it will have been worth it. regardless, I'll get one heck of a workout just working my way through them to figure out which ones I like.

In less happy news, I have to take a hiatus from Island Cycling. I'm finding that stepping in place for that long really aggravates my hips. Oh well, lots of other things to try....

Weight Watchers still going well. I'm eating a lot of that tomato vegetable soup!

Hmm, I just typed up a reply and when I tried to post it, the site wanted me to log in all over again and my reply was lost. I think. I'll try again.

Thank you mtbone and Alexa. :)

It is amazing to me how much my weight can fluctuate in one day. I mean, really, I can't be gaining or losing 4 pounds overnight. I'm trying to only pay attention to overall trends, and after a long dry spell with no progress from late January to well into February, I'm finally on the right track again. I have lost 15 pounds total since starting my low carb/ Wii Fit regimen. Yay!!

Pam, I'll be interested to hear what weight loss videos you liked best. It sounds like you hit the motherlode! And the soup does sound delicious. I'll have to try it.

five minutes of a salsa dance video to warm up this morning (5 minutes was all I could do!) then 40 minutes of yoga. I'm hoping it's not raining tomorrow so Ari and I can walk.

Becky, you really can lose or gain 4 pounds overnight, but almost all of that will be water and food "in the system" so-to-speak.

The total "throughput" of the human body is about 13 to 14 pounds of water, food and air in and out. So four pounds is not so much.

The graph below is my weight over the last year. The yellow line shows my actual weight, while the red one shows the rolling average. As you can see, the day to day can change quite a bit.

I agree with Paul, I am used to scary fluctuations ! remember some medications can cause water retention too. You've got to step back and look at the overall picture.
Well done on the 15 pounds, that's great.

I'm still stuck on this plateau, I seem to drop a little then back again and never budge much ! My eating has been good these past few days, only 15 mins Wii today, but a lot of walking. I also did a bit of gardening, well, tidying in preparation for gardening, too damned cold ! ;)

Booked our summer holiday so that will be a good incentive to get toned up. Not that the British weather allows for bikini wearing !

I think I'll add more of the muscle exercises to my Wii fitness routine.

We are all dreaming of yardwork. A small patch of lawn appeared this week in the backyard. Can't wait to get outside more, might cut back on the Wii but sure can't hurt. I hate cabinfever. :(

Alexa,

I got stuck on this platea where I kept gaining and losing the same pound over and over. Several of my friends and my weight watchers leader suggested I add more dairy to my diet. I did, and the next week I lost 2.2 lbs! I'm not sure the dairy was the only thing. I was very good with my diet overall and I was also exercising, so it was probably a combination of things. But I know several people who swear increased dairy will break a plateau.

I'm not sure what products you have in the UK, but one thing I like is the fiber-one yogurt. It's tasty and it's very low in calroies. Has fiber too. I also use skim milk in my oatmeal and in smoothies to get a little more dairy that way.

I remember reading somewhere that a study showed that increasing calcium intake was a boon to weight loss. I Googled and found this article. http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/142198.php Seems that you can take supplements instead of eating dairy which works great for me since I am lactose intolerant. I already take calcium with Vit D because my family has a history of osteoporosis.
