Thanks Pam and Mokey, I agree about the calcium and dairy, I mentioned the calcium thing myself in another thread here. I already include more skimmed milk and low fat cheeses, fromage frais and natural yogurts.
I feel slimmer today. Have not weighed in yet though. My new jeans, which just fitted when I bought them now need a belt.

Walked Ari for 30 minutes today. Followed up with a 20 minute stretching video.
I have one of those Polar heart monitors and I used it on my walk to day. My heart rate averaged 103 and peaked at 120. Not a tremendous cardio workout, I know, but with my joint history, I figure it's more important to listen to my knees and hips than my heart and lungs. I figure if I do something every day, and dont' injure myself, I'll get there eventually.

It's good that Ari's health will benefit too ! though he doesn't look prone to weight gain ! but it's good for him.
The wii says I've gained one pound but I was wearing heavier clothes (I did this in the simple test)., and it was much later in the day. I did an hour as I know I won't do much at the weekend. Yoga, cycling, snowball, kung fu and step plus, more jogging, more steps. I seemed to exceed al my previous efforts, trying harder or too much coffee ??? I've had very little sleep this week. My 11 year old has taken to insomnia, and likes to share !

LOl... I remember when my nephew was that age and kept waking my sister in the middle of the night to tell her he couldn't sleep. She finally said to him "Are you ill? Are you bleeding? Is the house on fire?" When he answered "no" to all of the above, she told him he had to learn how to deal with it himself and stop waking her! I think he's still has insomnia a lot (gets that from his father), but he no longer disturbs her with it.
Good job on your Wii workout today! I hear you about the pound... I had the same thing happen in reverse. It finally said I was a "normal" weight, but then I realized I had it set for heavy clothing and I was wearing light clothing. Oh well.
Yeah, Ari LOVES the walks. He gets so excited when I get out his leash. Today it started raining on our way home. We were still about a block and a half from the house when it started and got pretty wet. He wasn't as thrilled with that.
Tomorrow, Yoga again. I can't wait for all those tapes I ordered to arrive! Should be fun figuring out which ones I like.

Paul, I like your graph. You are right about the daily fluctuations not meaning much, it is the long-term trend that counts. Congrats on the weight loss!! I was getting pretty frustrated a few weeks ago when I seemed to be working very hard, yet not making any progress over 3-4 weeks. I don't know what caused the stall, but now I am happy to be making progress again.
It is interesting about the calcium. I do not consume enough calcium, and I'm always forgetting to take my supplements. Lately I've been trying to be better about taking a multivitamin and calcium supplements, also vitamin C since on my low carb diet, I consume little or no fruit. Maybe taking the vitamins including plenty of calcium is what helped me over the hump and has started me back on a slow but steady downward trend.

Yes, I meant to say well done Paul, you are an inspiration to us all.
Hope the weather gets better for Ari, and let us know about all your fitness dvd's Pam.
Did an hour yesterday on Wii, and cheated inadvertantly today, my daughter wanted to do the free cycle but hasn't got to that level so I logged her in as me, so I've got 18 minutes I didn't do !

Ari and I walked 30 minutes today. My goal has been to get at least a little exercise every day. I'm probably getting 6 out of seven days on average for the past month.
Still on program with Weight Watchers, tracking everything I eat. My next weigh-in is on Tuesday evening.

I'm afraid I haven't been doing an awful lot of either Wii fit or healthy eating (I've been veering from not eating much at all, to eating the wrong things !). Not felt 100% , but a bit better today so spent 45 mins Wii fitting this morning. I really don't know whether I've lost or gained weight but will weigh in properly tomorrow.
I've started to take calcium supplements and vitamin D, so will be curious to see if it makes any difference to my weight loss.
Just a bit of advice with the calcium supplements. It can make some people constipated so making sure you're getting lots of fiber and drinking lots will help.

Thanks for the note about the calcium supplements mokey.
I didn't get to weigh in at all yesterday, as I had too much to do, but will do so this morning, I did hop onto my bathroom scales this morning and they appeared to show a loss, so I'll see what the wii says !
Feeling a little more motivated than of late, so will spend an hour on wii fit today, it's pouring outside so apart from the school 'run' I won't get much walking done.
As for diet I really don't know what I should be doing, I'm somewhat of a nutrition expert, I've read so many books on the subject ! but it seems I don't lose when I diet, yet I don't really gain when I 'go off track'. So that suggests to me I'm not doing anything to help me get off the plateau. I also think it's harder to lose weight when there's less to lose, just a few pounds. I'm going away fro a spring break in two weeks and would just like to see a shift in the right direction. I think I'll try a couple of days on a high protein diet to see if that gets rid of some of my carb-bloat. My skin has been very dry too so I think a little good fat will help.
