Trying some jumps and rock climbs is fun after making a speed run, trying to pop balloons. Often I just try to rack up miles. So far 11 miles total is my best.

For alternative cool downs, I tried to get up on the ruins and find other areas to ride around. I even tried to ride up the ramp walls on the central ruin. Made it once, but it takes extreme control.

Riding up the steep incline at the west end of the balloon wall, I thought it would be possible to get onto the flat mountain side ledge, then onto the ruins.

After many attempts, it seems that there is an invisible barrier which bounces me back before getting to the level spot. I could ride down the slope to the grass along the wall, and several times, bumping into the wall caused a strange, mysterious enigmatic, paranormal response. My mii 'cyberwarped' into the rock wall, emerging into normal cyberspace around the corner, but going directly through the ruin wall!

After stopping on the grass, and looking toward the west, it became obvious that a 'cybergate' had opened where the ruin wall had been, and a reservoir of water appeared, apparently under the ruins, with a water level slightly below the elevation of the entrance trail, and bounded by the trail. It was not possible to determine the other boundaries of the reservoir.

Riding along the edge of the cybergate, I fell into the reservoir, and the short fall and splash confirmed the water level was higher than sea level.

Warping back into visibility, I found myself back on the temple green, and the cybergate had closed.

A poor quality video of part of this experience is at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mDLOKCgDTlg.

Perhaps more advanced cyclists can repeat this phenom, and advance our understanding. Since my mii, named Pappy, documented the discovery first, I claim priority of discovery, the title of Commodore for my mii, and name the ruins reservoir "Pappy's Pool". ;) 8-) Oh well...

I found the ramp of the middle ruin is not so complicate to drive.

That I try about hundred times and always fail.

Sure! The first discoverer always will give the name.

There is something wrong with my Youtube posting. When I try to view it, I get a blank white screen. Other Youtube videos display, not this one. My browser may have problems.

Found another rock climbing point, again no real gain, just interesting to try. I still think a more experienced cyclist could do some serious obstacle clearing. This one is at the west end of the suspension bridge. There is an area on the rock spire which is partially accessible.

Old Bil's J7 jump is very puzzling. Anyone duplicated that? It's at the dead end tunnel.

Do you mean the J2? The jump from the dead end to the ruins? I have never gotten anywhere with that one. :?

Regarding your original post about finding water at the ruins, I had a similar experience on the roofs where I jumped down to a lower roof, hit an obstruction, was spun around facing the wall of an adjoining building and suddenly splashed into water (while on the roof!). I resurrected on the road facing the red bridge. I never could duplicate that so never posted the experience.

Here is something of a weird experience that you can have (copied from an earlier post I made):

Climb to the highest grassy patch on the mountain, the one with the blocked cave. Pick up the dog and pedal at one side of the blocked cave (either side) and pull a wheelie. Keep pedalling as if you are going to climb straight up the mountainside. Your viewpoint should change as if you are underground, looking straight up at your mii. The dog will walk on the "ground" right over you.

All so fascinating, and it's nice to meet the Commodore. :D

I once ran into the corner of the mountain instead of ascending the grassy balloon ledge near the mouth of the metal spiral tunnel. For an instant there was an opening there to enter a body of water, which I did and was then resurrected in the grass near the spot. I've posted that before.

Oh well, since others have made previous discoveries, I will demote Pappy from Commodore to Seaman Recruit. Maybe there's a Commode Door rank?? [How will that go through Methusalem's automatic translator?]

But with all the almost available untouched areas for cycling, has a public outcry been made to Nintendo to expand the Island Cycling program? How many copies of Wii Fit Plus are out there? And how many compulsive Island Cyclists are there? "We are cyclists hear us roar, in numbers too big to ignore..." What would happen if we email bombarded Nintendo with a demand for continuing upgrades?

I have not yet begun to cycle..and the Wii Fit Plus Island Cycle programmers have not yet begun to program..give me more cycling levels or give me..hmm, maybe I better not get quite that intense..Let's see..I only regret that I have but three levels of Island Cycling..

PS Guess my videos work, but they don't work on this browser on this computer.. :?

No, that's not a mistake. I spent thirty minutes today trying to find your water, and found some interesting stuff intstead.

If you jump off the wall behind the temple ruins, you die (as we all know), but if you look closely, you will see that at certain angles, you land safely on the level below just as the black closes in on you. So, yes, I was landing safely as I died.

I didn't manage to fall into the water up there, but I did manage to see the water a couple of times, I think by forcing the camera behind the wall / cliff face. Plenty weird when you do so.

Fascinating stuff. Thanks for finding it.
