Hi All

I have been playing the Wii Fit while using the recgargable battery pack for a few months when tonight the light just went out after my wife had completed the jogging excercise i first thought the unit was dead so i plugged the lead in to charge the battery pack and the red light appeared straight away, now the guy in the shop said you can play while it charges ? well now my wii wont turn on at all with the pack installed do you think i need to leave it to charge for an hour or so because when i put in normal batteries it comes on straight away or do you think my pack is not charging ? has anyone had the same problem ??

That does sound like a charging problem.

I would try charging it fully while it is out of the balance board. If that doesn't work, then you know there is a problem with the battery pack.

With a lot of rechargeable batteries, there is often a period at the beginning of a charge from flat when you can't simultaneously charge and use. Both my mobile phone and laptop are like this, they both need a minute or two of just charging before you can turn them on if their batteries are totally flat.

Personally I just use a set of ordinary rechargeable AA batteries, they seem to work fine. I have a few spare sets ready and charged up for all my gadgets.

Can I ask a couple of potentially silly questions ? I'm not very technically minded.

Our wii remotes and the board have regular batteries in them. I do have a charger but it doesn't seem to charge the batteries very well as they don't last long at all.
My 11 year old niece was playing on the Wii with my kids and asked me "where is your wii charging station ?" she says she has one, similar I think to an ipod docking station, which is especially to charge the wii remote while not in use ?
Also, I had a lot of difficulty with the cycling today, I never have before, could this be because the batteries are low ? the cycle wouldn't respond to my turning the remote, I landed in the water 4 times !

I wondered just how energy hungry wii's are ?

There are third-party charging stations and rechargeable battery packs for the Wii Remote, have a look around on Amazon, there are quite a few different ones.

Hi all, I have a question:

I have heard opposing sides to the battery pack issue for the Wii Fit. I saw on one forum that it was ok to buy a battery pack as long as it was Ni-MH, and on another it said to not buy one, because if you buy the wrong kind your warranty will be voided. Does anybody know what is the truth, or have any good advice as to which kind of battery/battery pack to buy?

I would be very surprised if the warranty could be voided by using the wrong kind of rechargeable battery.

If it is, it would have to say so in the manual somewhere. Companies can't void warranties because you did something reasonable that you didn't know might damage it.

Personally I just use normal rechargeable AA batteries. They last a few months between charge, and fit a number of other gadgets I have. I just keep a few spare ones charged up. They are generally cheaper, and when they stop working (all rechargeables deteriorate over time) they can be recycled and replaced.

If i were to get the recharable battery packs, which mAH is best? I've seen alot of 2800 mAH packs on ebay, and then I saw one on walmart.com that was 1000 mAH.

The mAH refers to the capacity of the battery. The bigger that number, the longer a charged battery will last.

Not only the mAH are interesting but also the voltage. I using eneloops because the voltage is little bit higher then the other MH accumulators. This prevent the to early request for this for exchange the battery. Using it over a year without any problems (510 days if a can the WiiFi pigy trust). Also in the Balance Board.
