I'm a bike fanatic, but try to hit the other exercises once in a while - I haven't figured out what the value is of the Wii Fit + channel, so I went to that and did about 35 min. on aerobics and the "fun stuff". Everything seemed fine, then I took a break and (duhhh!) tripped over the cord for recharging my board - and pulled the Wii console onto the floor. When I got everything back in place, I was at the Wii screen (rather than the Wii Fit + or the channel) so went directly to Wii Fit + instead of the channel. I jumped on the bike and didn't notice until I was done for the day that NONE of the time I spent on the channel showed up anywhere. Is this normal? Or did I screw it up when the console was dropped?
What is the benefit of using the channel at all?
This is a GREAT forum - and many thanks to all who maintain and contribute!
I only use the "channel" for doing weigh ins. I didn't know you could actually do training in there, I thought you had to put the disk in. It does save my weigh in data so it must send the info to the console. Maybe something happened when it fell.
The only reason I use the channel is because I had gotten into the habit of weighing in with Wii Fit instead of using Plus because Fit was set to pounds and my Plus is in kgs because I'm in Canada. If I use the channel I don't have to change disks.

I find the channel useful when I am doing my "Just Dance" game and want to record the time in my activity log. Saves the trouble of switching discs.......

Ooh, tell me more about Just Dance. It sounds interesting and I'm always looking for something fun to do.
Amazon has a very thorough description on their site so you may want to check that out. I'll just give you the highlights.
Basically you follow the movements of the dancer and get points for how well you match them. It uses the remote so you're really only judged on arm movements and not so much the legs.
There are 30 songs and they are rated from one to three stars on effort and difficulty. Some of the 2-3 star songs really get your heart pumping (arms up high a lot of the time) so it's great aerobic activity. I also think that my arms get more of a workout when I do this than when I do anything on wii fit (I don't do push-ups!) But - a couple of the routines use the right arm a lot more than the left, so I try not to do more than one of these each time.
Right now I do about 7 or 8 songs every other day (I count it as 30 minutes in my activity log, even though it actually takes a little bit longer with the song selection, etc.) The days I don't do the Just Dance I usually do the aerobics and stair stepping in Wii Fit Plus.
Up to four players can play against each other at a time so that is fun too.
I'll have to look for that. It sounds a lot like a mini game in Raving Rabbids that we play. It's a hoot to watch my son trying to do the moves to The Jackson Five's ABC!
