Dr Hertz, the leader of the study, suggested that the Wii Fit use may increase the production of dopamine in the brain, something with is lacking in Parkinson's patients.
Until now, most of the "Wii in therapy" stories we've seen have been about physical therapy, it's nice to see people looking for new ways to use it in other medical situations. My grandfather suffered from Parkinson's disease, so I've seen what it does to people, anything that can help relieve both the physical and psychological aspects of this crippling condition is very good news, especially something which anyone can use in their own home.
