I've gotten 4 stars on the beginner's, advanced, and expert courses, and have been able to find all 20 balloons on the free ride. But I can't get better than 3 stars on the island view course. What's the best route to get all the flags in the shortest distance? I'm frustrated!!!

from the 26.5 mile thread I copied GrEi s route Start above the castle on the loop. If you can, be in the grassy area with the standing stones, where you find...
(I removed the route as it is posted in the 26.5 spoiler thread and has been modified somewhat. The route is a spoiler and i don't want to ruin it for someone here)
You can modify it a bit if you like as As you do the route more often you may find shorter routes and some cheats. The threads on this forum hold many answers if you want them. Cheats are tagged as SPOILER so those who wish to find out on their own can happy cycling. i love this method of exercise. Did my run last night in 18:42.86 minutes A record for me.

Yu just need to build your strength and speed up I think. As you refine your technique I think the problem will go away. Try to build up speed on downhill and flat sections to help going uphill. Also if you zigzag before stopping you can climb steeper hills if necessary. have fun!!

If you move your Wii remote side to side while you're climbing a hill it will keep you from stopping and having to start again. That works for me in the sandy areas as well.

Is this the right forum for measuring distance? I'd like to compare notes for getting the maximum distance out of the 30 minutes during the Island View ride. My current best is 13.327 miles, but there must be a way to improve it.

Yes your 21.448km it can improved. After trying it some time I think the rhythm if important and not forget: don't stop to pedal.
