I just purchased the Wii/Wii Fit Plus and we are very excited about the product. I don't much about the various categories in the Wii Fit Plus (Yoga, Strength Training, etc)

Is there a particular category and/or exercise that I can use to focus on my lower back? When I bought this, it was an area I want to focus on but I can't seem to figure out which activities or exercises I should do?

Please let me know. Thanks.

I would suggest that you focus on the balance activities to start off with - the chicken game, juggling, tightrope walking, balance bubble, slalom etc. All of these involve adjusting your balance on the board by shifting where you hold your weight on your feet, which gets you to move your small leg muscles, which then kind of flows on to your lower back. Also, the hula hoop games are good for getting your lower body moving in a funny fashion. ;)

As for the other ones, try the half moon, warrior and chair yoga poses. Try the downward facing dog later, and when you get good at that, the parallel stretch. The parallel stretch will work out all of your midsection. When you get good at that one, you can unlock a challenge where you try to keep in the pose for as long as the instructor.... When I work my way up past 30 seconds without my face turning as red as a tomato, maybe I'll give that a go, LOL!

But any and all of the balance games are good for your lower back muscles, and I've not tried out all of the yoga poses yet.

If you've got any lower back pain, I would suggest that you avoid doing the Crocodile Twist exercise - I tried it out for fun and I must have done it wrong or something, because owie... :( According to this article, some of the Wii Fit Yoga poses are shown in their super-advanced forms, not for beginners. (which includes the Warrior pose - beware bending your knee in front of your ankle! :o )

Hope this helps, happy WiiFitting!

That's all good advice (especially the warnings about the yoga :)).

If you are using Wii Fit Plus, there is actually a category in the "My Wii Fit" section for lower back. I'm not sure which exercises are in it though, I'll check it out tomorrow.

The exercise and yoga are can be very successful to peter out the back pain. I am gettin' in it or I've have my another remedy through chiropractor Eastleigh which is connoisseur with back pains.
