According to the Office of National Statistics, the average size of UK households is 2.36. That means that about one in 7 homes owns a Wii. That's a pretty amazing figure, and slightly ahead of the combined install base for the XBox 360 and PS3.
With sales holding pretty strong (and probably ready to surge at christmas), you have to wonder what the saturation point is? I figure that it is higher than that of the XBox and PS3, people I know who would never have bought one of those have a Wii. Anecdotal evidence, I know, but I think it is clear that the Wii's appeal is far broader than other games systems.
