Yes, I have always wanted to do jujitsu, but I simply did not think that I would be able to because I was in such poor shape. But after a year of WiiFit Plus, last night, I went to my first jujitsu class. :D :D :D

I had no problems whatsoever keeping up with everyone. I didn't need to sit out once in the rather intense hour and 45 minute session. I was a little tired afterwards, but managed the 20 minute walk home, and I'm a little sore today, but nothing to worry about.

As for the jujitsu, it was marvellous. It was absolutely great fun being tossed on the mat and learning to toss others. I always thought that doing martial arts would be interesting and practical, but I never imagined that I would laugh so much during the session. At one point, when I we were practising grabs and how to evade them, I was chasing around the girl who was defending and we were both giggling like mad. :D :D :D None of this would have even been vaguely possible had I not been in such good shape.

As well as going to jujitsu twice a week from now on, I'm going to keep up with my WiiFit Plus, of course, especially the free step, which has helped immensely to build up my leg muscles.

Good for you! It is fun to go to a class with other people and learn a new skill. I did a 10 week kickboxing course offered through the Parks & Rec dept last spring and it was fun. I had no problem keeping up and made some new friends. It never hurts to try new things and realize a dream.

Thanks, mokey41. It really is just so great going to class. I'm keeping up with much younger people, too, although I know I couldn't do what some of them do, which is to go through a full judo session (there's a judo class before the jujitsu), and then go through a full jujitsu session. I would be a little puddle of sweat on the floor if I tried that. :)

I'm really glad that you were able to do a kickboxing course. Are you going to do some more or some other martial arts, even?

I haven't really decided. I liked the kickboxing for the fun of the class but I'm not sure it's my thing and I ultimately get lazy about getting to classes.

Hello! We are Marketing students from George Brown College in Toronto, Canada. We are conducting a study on
Wii Fit users; whether Wii Fit is an effective tool to lose weight and become more physically fit or if it's
only for entertainment. We would greatly appreciate your input and it will only take you about 3-4 minutes
to complete the survey. Please click this link to start
