Object of the game

Your Mii is stuck between some waist-high mushrooms with numbers on top. You must help your Mii bump the right mushrooms to add up to ten, fifteen, or twenty.

How to play the game

Shift your weight around on the Wii Balance Board to bump the mushrooms to light them up or to turn off their lights. Each mushroom has a number on top, and if you light up a combination that adds up to the target figure (see below), you win that calculation, and the numbers change. The game will present you with a fixed number of calculations, and if you win them all, the game ends.

At the beginning there are three mushrooms, but about half-way through, however, this changes to four, increasing the level of difficulty slightly by allowing more complex combinations.

Levels

There are three levels of Perfect 10: Beginner, Advanced, and Super Advanced. They differ in the following ways:

Beginner

  • Add up to 10
  • 20 calculations
  • 60 seconds

Advanced

  • Add up to 15
  • 25 calculations
  • 75 seconds

Super Advanced

  • Add up to 20
  • 30 calculations
  • 90 seconds

Scoring

The game is played against the clock, and if you finish all calculations, your score will be the time taken (not the time left). If you run out of time (this is definitely possible), you will get a score based on how many calculations you did finish.

Hazards

  • The principal hazard is being slow in assessing which combination of lit mushrooms will win a calculation, because the game is played against the clock.
  • It is upsettingly easy to bounce right-and-left when you meant only right or only left, and the same applies to forward and back in the four-mushroom phase of the game.

Hints and tips

  • As you progress through a game, the calculations will become more tricky, with multiple valid combinations and negative numbers. Do not become fixated on the idea of always lighting a negative number, as it is quite common that they are not used.
  • Use the pre-start countdown, where three unnumbered mushrooms are available to be bumped, to "calibrate" your position. This can help eliminate unintended two-way bounces.
  • This game is recommended for people who have problems with the memory test component of the Body Test.

Silliness

As the game opens, before the "press A to start" point, you can see that your Mii is on the set of a Sixties pop music show, akin to Top of the Pops.

With the Wii set to French, this game has a much more fun name, Champiflip.

At the end of the game, while the results are on the screen, you can continue to bump the mushrooms. Each mushroom has a different drum sound attached, so you get to play a cool (?) drum solo behind the finished-game music.
