Levels

There is only one level of Triangle.

How to do it

At all times, follow the movements of your trainer.

Initial Position

  • Stand on the Wii Balance Board.
  • Your feet should be apart.
  • Your arms should be at your sides.

Set-up

  • Keep your right foot on the Wii Balance Board, with the toes pointed forward.
  • Move your left foot off the Will Balance Board, stretching your leg out behind you so that it forms the other side of an equilateral triangle.
  • Keeping your right leg and foot facing forward, turn the rest of your body so that it is facing the side.
  • Turn your left foot so that the toes are at a right angle to your right foot.
  • Make sure that your heels are aligned.
  • Raise your arms to shoulder height and extend them outwards so that they are horizontal. Your right arm should be over your right leg, and your left, over your left leg.

The position

  • As if you were doing a cartwheel, bend at the waist and, keeping it straight, bring your left arm down so that it is on the board right next to your right foot.
  • Ideally, your left palm should be flat on the board.
  • At the same time as bring your left arm down, keeping your right arm straight, allow it to move with you as you bend forward until it is pointing straight up at the ceiling.

Holding the Position

  • Breathe in and out, keeping your breath steady.
  • Concentrate on your balance so that you keep the red bar in the blue zone.

Unwinding

  • Straighten yourself so that your arms are again horizontal.
  • Let your arms fall to your sides.
  • Turn your body so that it is facing the front.
  • Turn your left leg and foot so they are facing foward.
  • Bring your left leg onto the Wii Balance Board.
  • Stand on the Wii Balance Board with your legs apart.

Repetitions

  • Repeat the exercise, but this time keeping your left foot on the Wii Balance Board.
  • There is only one repetition of this exercise: once to the right and once to the left.

Scoring

You are awarded points based on how well you kept the red bar within the blue zone, for both the right and the left bends.

Problems

  • Unless you are very flexible, you probably won't be able to place your palm flat on the Wii Balance Board at first. Work up to this gently by doing the exercise at least once a day.
  • If you are having problems keeing the red bar in the blue zone, you are bending too far forward.
  • Do not overdo this stretch as you might lose your balance. It is meant to gently stretch your waist and lower body.
