Object of the game
To your horror, your Mii, along with seven others, has been turned into a ball! The only way that they can be turned back to normal is to get through a series of tilting tables. Your objective is to tilt the tables so that the balls drop into the hole before running out of time.
Equipment required
This game requires use of:
- The Wii Balance Board
MET
Table Tile has a MET rating of 2.0, meaning that it is a light activity.
How to play the game
Shift your weight around on the Wii Balance Board to tilt the table. The table has one or more holes in it; you must guide the balls into the hole or holes. There are eight tables, and the number of balls in play begins at one and progresses up to eight. There are two tables with two balls.
Complicating this are various hazards:
- Unguarded edges - some tables lack a lip at the edge that would make it harder to drop the balls over the edge.
- Slopes - some tables have sloped surfaces, almost always working against you.
- Ridges and steps - some of the tables have ridges or steps on them. You cannot roll balls up these obstacles, but instead you will find a small cup near the obstacle. Drop the ball into the cup, and it will be launched into the air. Angle the board to launch the ball to the inaccessible area.
- Rising pegs - some of the tables have pegs that rise and fall. When up, they obstruct the balls.
- Pinball-style launchers - a couple of tables have launchers that slightly resemble pinball launchers in their operation: the ball touches the "active" side and is launched in that direction. One of these tables actually bears a strong resemblance to a small, simple pinball table, but with four "live" balls.
- Spinners - a couple of table feature spinners. These are shaped somewhat like the blue parts of a BMW logo, but with a small hub as well. They rotate and block or reveal access to different parts of the table.
If you drop a ball into a hole, it is taken out of play until the next table.
If you drop a ball over the edge (and not into a hole), the table is spun around, possibly losing others, and the ball is put back into play.
You have 30 seconds to complete the first table, and when you get a ball into a hole, you gain 6 seconds, to a maximum of 99 seconds.
Scoring
The game is played against the clock, and if you finish all eight tables, your score is the number of seconds remaining plus 80 points. If you run out of time, your score will be 10 points for each table you have completed.
Hints and tips
- Try to use gentle movements, especially on the tables with lots of unguarded edges.
- One table features two pinball launchers, two balls, and a pop-down barrier. You always see this one looking directly in line with the launch direction. Tip the table back towards you, and you get a free 10-11 second boost - it takes 1-2 seconds, and sinks two balls at +6 seconds each. Do not try to do anything remotely fancy on this one.
- On the spiral table, beware of crashing the balls hard into a raised peg - the impact of the third ball may force the first off the table.
